Im sure most here would Pick Israel Vasquez over Gamboa, but seemingly forgot that he and Jhonny fought a life and death battle with Izzy getting the upperhand towards the end.

For a start he has at least two weaknesses, his chin and his defence. But the fact is, if he had only 2 weaknesses he'd look a lot better and have progressed a lot further than he has at the moment. I don't regard handspeed, power and reflexes as 'skills', more as physical abilities, 'skills' is reserved for technical ability and intelligence. Gamboa hasn't proved to be cutting edge in either department. The guy is flawed, majorly flawed.

true, gonzalez is a tad underrated and gamboa's luster is slowly coming off.

Jhonny boy is trying to land a fight against Caballero or Lopez as we speak. But of course Lopez will not fight him.

His power is overrated..He has speed, thats it. He threw the kitchen sink at Gonzales, this was a much smaller fighter

No person who respects boxing picks him over a proven guy like Jhonny Gonzales. Hes all dash, flash and unproven at the pro level, Im not going to pick him over a guy who has fought and beaten the elite. Respect that. Gamboa must prove he can beat an elite fighter before I pick him.

He has all the skills, maybe the best of the present era. He simply lacks the courage to face big challenges ahead of his way so he opted to retire instead of pursuing greatness he is obviously capable of.:-(
