my father in law r.i.p. grew up in pittsburgh and when he was bout 16 or 17 he was drunk and stole a car outside a bar. he drove it a few blocks and wrecked it into several cars destroying the car he stole. the owner came after him and pulled him from the wreckage. guess who the owner was? Billy Conn! my father in law said he was scared shitless but billy let him go and was very understanding and nice to him. thats a hell of a true story!!!!!
supposedly archie moore asked billy why they never fought as middles and billy replied " because you wernt good enough" nuff said!!!
after his carreer was over billy was a liquor salesman and he used to sell booze to my mother in law who worked at a liquor store. met him many times great guy with hellasish stories bout back in the day!!!
