The way he set up that jab knockdown was beautiful, too. He threw a couple directly into Deebook's chin at like 40% power, and started to shift his weight in reverse as though he were about to give up ground, but then when Deebook lumbered in overconfidently and began to unfurl his own jab, Niyomtrong struck with serpentine quickness the moment he saw the opening and put 100% and interest on it. Maybe the hardest jab I've seen all year.

Wouldn't that be meeting #3 between them, all for the same belt?

Although yeah, that is just the nature of the beast - the division is so thin and the Nicaraguan keeps treading water and doing enough to stay ranked, so, fair play.

Interesting watching the 1st round back now with the benefit of knowledge of what happens. You can see Niyomtrong downloading the proverbial data, reading Deebook, tasting just a bit of his power while mostly remaining elusive, making him lunge, getting a feel out for his speed and sense of distance...and even some of his counter jabs in the 1st were pretty stiff; he actually did wobble Deebook at one point with a jab even while in full-on defense mode.

Rojas has to face some stiff who he will probably beat. Saludar has to face Erick Sosa which is the more intriguing of the two match ups.

Wtf? They show the whole first round, then skip to slow-mo highlights of the knockdowns from the second & third? Why not just show the whole thing, if they're going to bother showing the least eventful three minutes in full?

edit: never mind, they are, R2 is on now, technical director must have just had a brain fart queuing up those anachronistic highlights from later in the fight to show after R1.

Damn, and here I was sitting up, planning on another one of my just in the nick of time appearances, but I passed out in my chair about 40 minutes ago, and woke up about 5 minutes ago doing my very best bent neck lady impression from The Haunting Of Hill House.

Although I can't say I'm shocked, since this was the first time I've went with this kind of prediction in one of Niyomtrong's matches in quite some time.

You watching the replay? (don't blink from this point on)

I'm very satisfied with this performance. This is the version of Knockout that I have no trouble picking to unify at 105. Not that lackluster bore we've seen in recent years.

No, I just rewound it to rounds 2 and 3. All 3 knockdowns, especially the jab knockdown were sweet. It's all because Niyomtrong was rocking that Pacquiao look for Halloween this year, it's given him wings.:ggg He needs to stick with it.:sisi1

Who the hell even has the IBF strap at straw now, anyway? :dunno

I know that Niyomtrong's inferior countryman Pradabsiri, whom they're going to showcase on the after-card in a moment, has the WBC and Bimbito has the WBO...and Saludar has the regular version of the WBA (Niyomtrong's is the "Super") ..but ??

I was thinking he looked Pacmanesque! Not just aesthetically but with that finishing sequence too, darting in and looping bombs up on his toes like that.

No offense, IB, but you easily just see on wikipedia or boxrec who the champ is.

Rene Mark Cuerto beat Taduran this February in a pretty BS decision to win the belt.

Not an actual bout just an exhibtion.

Panya better enjoy the belt as long as he can because he will get his belt viciously removed from him from either Shigeoka bro.
