Salapat is forcing a brawl now, baiting Rosia to exchange big right hooks with him. Surprise surprise, Salapat wins that battle. Things settle down and Salapat's right jab is the star of the show once more. Rosia is getting cracked with the 1-2, freezing up, and giving Salapat a prime target for a right hook bashing the side of the skull. Very intermittent flurries by Rosia, nothing on them.

WBC open scoring through eight...somehow all three judges have it 78-74 to ...we have to assume Salapat.

To be clear: there haven't been two rounds for Rosia in here. That's all very odd.

 

Round 9

Salapat is fixing the jab on the bullseye from range, taking a bit of a break here. Rosia takes advantage, diving in and putting together body shots and shoot-up right hooks off bent knee. Salapat ducking and writhing in the pocket, working some left uppercuts but very slappy. He's content to more or less give this frame away, clearly, given his by now extremely comfortable lead. Rosia not exactly making the most of his chance, with big effort but little precision on his wild leaping uppercuts.

Round 10

Salapat is dashing in with the quick right jab, moving aside, then doubling up on the jab again. Rosia is slapping at the body with loose right hooks and trying shoeshines on the chest of Salapat. Jabs and body combos from a tired Salapat, much less effective than his earlier work, but more so than Rosia's sloppiness.

Seventieth career victory for Salapat - all before his thirtieth birthday!

Now, his record contains as much padding as you'd expect from most Thais who get into numbers that high, but there's a smattering of quality in there, and he's less a fraud than many of his countrymen IMO.
