Sort of! (you can run it back in the YouTube video embedded in the OP; the "knockout" occurs at roughly 1:15:55)

It was more a case of just a routine flash knockdown - third of the fight, basically more a testament both to Salapat's timing and Tô's defensively porous amateurishness than Salapat having crazy power or Tô having a weak chin - where the ref didn't even wait for the dude to be fully supine before waving it off. Like, forget abandoning the count too early - he didn't even start it! (and it was hardly the sort of concussive authoritative knockdown where you expect an official to do that. Not only was Tô fully conscious, he was annoyed, shocked and confused when he realized he'd been waved off...99.99% of times, in other parts of the world, he beats the count easily and gets "saved by the bell" in that situation)

    :deal:

It's so weird - on the one hand I usually laud Salapat for actually challenging himself and having a bit less of a padded-up record than many of his shamelessly can crushing compatriots, but on the other hand, for such a lauded fighter, he sure did struggle like hell with this last pair of imported novices (Chēnghào Luō and now Tô Phi Vinh).

I've got nothing but love for the Việt people, food, culture. Unfortunately though, any mention of them reminds me that I have not one but two insanely hot Vietnamese MILFs in my life that I can't act on my urges with due to ethical conflicts (one is a former student, the other is my son's best friend's mom) :ohno

The fact that I strongly suspect it is mutual in both cases makes it so much worse.

To be fair to all the fans in the YT comments speaking Thai, a quick Google Translate reveals that all of them were unanimously cooking Petch and the referee.

    Paraphrasing:

"We all know internally that floor to ceiling this sport is riddled with corruption, but this clown doesn't need to let the mask slip and make that so damn obvious for the rest of the world!"

"Petch may have lost every round if he never dropped Vinh"

"Petch saved from possibly getting KTFO if that had gone longer"

"I think when they had the doctor come on the ring apron he was supposed to end it on the cut to save Petch but he didn't catch on in time"

Put him with a great coach and give him access to world class sparring, and V. Tyson could actually make something of himself. The raw materials are impressive.

Salapat is really good, he have some power and a good defense. I'm sure that he have a better level actually than Nordine Oubaali.

Hope we will see him in another good fight with a "name" like Takuma Inoue.
