    Round 3

Juntarasuk is getting backed into the ropes by the long Salapat right jab, but then leaping in with power shots thrown in threes and fours. Salapat is pelted a few times and staggered back to rethink his approach. He ultimately keeps circling back to his tried and true - walk straight in behind the jab. It gets him lit up with counter power shot combos as Juntarasuk springs up at him off the ropes, over and over, but eventually he gets the range he wants and punishes Juntarasuk with a few sinus-drilling left crosses behind the jab.

    10-9 Juntarasuk, close

    29-28 Salapat

Juntarasuk earned his paycheck in R3. Salapat looked taken aback.

    Round 4

Sportsmanlike glove touch answering the bell. Juntarasuk is on his toes, doubling his jab and skating past Salapat, remaining in close and baiting him for counters, letting body shots rip early, ready to embellish upon his sterling effort in the previous round. Unfortunately for him fate has other plans. As he is doing good work blocking & parrying some right jabs from Salapat and then doubling up on a right hook downstairs, Juntarasuk takes a fraction of a second too long retracting his right arm from the second hook and is CREAMED by a check right hook on the chin from Salapat. Down hard. Juntarasuk is up but getting flurried on by the ropes and the ref jumps in.

    KO4!!

This was a pretty good fight to be honest. I'm surprised why Inoue's team didn't want to face Salapat and instead fought Dipean.

Salapat vs Dipean would be intriguing.

If not for Juntarasuk getting up, that would have been a late contender for 2021 KOOTY. Hell of a right hook.. and the way he went down was cinematically dramatic, teetering over to his side and doing a half-cartwheel into the ropes before steadying himself with a glove on them with a single leg kicked up in the air.

Names of the combatants in the opener just got published on the BoxRec page for this event, btw.

It was Peerapol Boonchauy taking a UD6 in his pro debut over Chaiwat Buatkrathok. Pretty impressive as Buatkrathok (incidentally, also the last challenger for Salapat's title) came in with a 33-4 record.

Just rewatched the fourth, it was on its way to perhaps being another Juntarasuk round based on the 45 seconds or so before the knockdown. If only he kept his left glove home by his chin instead of lazily dropping it while throwing his right hooks on the body, he may have avoided catastrophe and drawn level on the cards, 38-38 - which in & of itself would be a sort of moral victory here. Then again, it only took one clean touch from Salapat for Juntarasuk to be devastated, and being stopped in a third of his prior bouts meant he was doomed the moment he made any such mistake ...and twelve rounds is a long time. He probably was always getting kayoed, just a matter of when. Gallant effort bringing the fight to Salapat in that round-and-change, though.

So the broadcast is still going but for the last 20 minutes they've just been recapping all three fights on the card and replaying portions of them.

    Guess no more live boxing.
