The WBC awarded Jeff a belt. They didn't change the result b/c they have no power to. The Commission that oversaw the fight was the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Also a draw & no contest are separate results. The draw Kostya Tszyu received at the time stained his record. He spent years trying to get it changed & they eventually did.

The draw stained his career ? Wow that’s a new one. Tsyzu was pissed it wasn’t a win. He wanted the change to a win. A no contest doesn’t dispute that a fight took place . Just that there was no winner. Typically due to an injury or an illegal strike. That is the difference between a draw and a no-contest. Since a foul was ruled that punch landed after the bell.

This is not the same as WBC saying we felt Fenech won. That was why I stated WBC. Cause they made a precedence with that call.

Tszyu had an unblemished record going into the Leonardo Mas fight & the fact that the fight was ruled a technical draw at the time stained it. That's why his trainer said & I quote: "If you're going to screw us, at least give us our pants back afterwards". Tszyu's trainer at the time also happened to be Jeff Fenech's trainer in the Azumah Nelson fight. If Tszyu didn't consider the draw a stain, he wouldn't have spent years trying to get the result changed. And he didn't lobby the IBF to get the result changed. He lobbied the Nevada State Athletic Commission who eventually changed it.

You seem to not grasp a draw and no contest. It is still on you record. You did not win nore did you loose . You also seem to not grasp the rule of what can constitute a no-contest. There was a foul and rule on what a result can come from a foul.

The WBC saying “well we feel the judges were wrong” decades later is unprecedented. It isn’t even remotely close from a draw to a no contest due to a foul

More or less what I've always said. People think Canelo did "better" in the second fight because he stood his ground and threw more. Well, yeah, but he also ate a bunch more punches.
