Hurt means hurt.. like he was in trouble.. that was never ever ever the case in this fight.

A guy feeling a shot doesn't mean he was hurt.

He got hit less because the guy he was fighting didn't throw many shots.. so when he got hit it was like.. oh wow he got hit clean... but he was never affected by those shots.. not in a real way.

Ramirez didn't wow in this fight but it was an impressive performance nonetheless, Khatchikian is fairly heavy handed and busted up James Degale's face and gave him quite a few problems as well, and James Degale is the man at SMW at this point since Ward has moved to LHW. And while Ramirez didn't get he stoppage, Degale barely got it himself, and it was in the 11th and this was only a 10 rounder, Ramirez usually looks a little than he did tonight, but sometimes there are opponents that are hard to look good against like Gevorg.

But do I think he's ready for GGG......probably not. Especially since he was stunned a few times by Khatchikian who probably doesn't have GGG like power.

He looked like he has good potential. Like Bradley says, he needs to be polished. He'll have time. I don't see him getting GGG until a few years from now anyways.

He won't be ready for GGG, unless all of a sudden GGG starts looking human.

I'd think he'd do well against any of the top guys, mostly because it's not a great division now, but he's a solid guy all around.

Most impressive was his stamina.. he looked pretty much as strong in the 10th as the 1st.. wasn't winded at all.. and he was in with a awkward guy.

He does need to shore up that defense though, and he needs to establish the jab better.. but again.. impressive win none-the-less.

The way they're going with him it'll probably be sooner rather than later, he'll most likely face the winner of Abraham Vs Murray and then if he gets by them in convincing fashion the drumbeat will start for a GGG-Ramirez fight, Arum is really bad at that s*** like he's doing with Crawford-Pacquiao, the opponents Crawford has beaten doesn't come close to preparing him for Pacquiao but Arum is pushing it anyways, I think Bob is going senile.

    Zurdo beats GGG IMO

Easily would be GGGGs toughest bout

His height and reach may cause problems for GGG he has a 4 inch height advantage and a 5 inch reach advantage, but even then I'm not sure that'll be enough for him to survive.

    Why would GGG take it?

GGG is still not unified. Ramirez can't speak any english. Ramirez is at 168. Has Ramirez ever even headlined on HBO?

Arum talks a lot of nonsense. He sees GGG as a good money option, but I see 0 incentive for GGG promotions going after Ramirez. I literally can't think of one sensical reason why, lol.

They've been trying to make him a star, he was the co-feature on Rios-Alvarado 3 and the shows on TruTV are promoted by HBO they're both owned by Time Warner, and he's headlined 2 of those, I don't get it either.:conf

Zurdo is his nickname BTW it means left handed, Zurdo should fight any attempts to put him in with GGG, he's still young and since SMW at this point is weak he could definitely make an impact. But it wouldn't shock me if they start pushing this fight.

    1. Does HBO Latino count?
    2. If Ramirez was to win against the Abraham/Murray winner, it would add some luster to a possible fight.

Yeah he headlined HBO Latino with his match against Zuniga I forgot about that, and he was on one of their Chinese Zou Shiming afternoon cards against Talipeau as well.

Ramirez looked good tonight. He paced himself better and was still sharp to the final bell. In previous fights, he looked gassed by the 6th and made Canelos tank look like Margaritos.
