He tasted Kessler's power early and was afraid of trading with him. He knew what type of punch he connected with and knew it wasnt big enough to finish him off without getting knocked out trying.

The first time I saw a bad and unsure start from Kessler. And it seemed like he was trying to survive most of all aftedr the KD in round one. I also did not really notice any plan behind the left hook than came out of the blue.

Then I saw it again and Kessler was trying to figure Green out right from the beginning. He did get caught, but was not nearly as shook as I felt first time around with the adrenalin pumping. He was clear and avoided sharply right after the ref said box.. he also countered Green, an actually had Green shook badly just seconds later just before the end of the round.

In round 2 he shakes Green badly twice - booth times with a left hook. Looking at the fight again it was easier to see Kessler's plan unfold.

All in all, I think he found and executed really well a weakness that no one else has been able to see and/or exploit.

Kessler seemed abit slower on his feet and was getting caught with the jab alot, he was fighting at Greens pace for most of the fight, plus the knockdown are just normal signs of abit of early ring rust imo. He stepped up the intensity at times and looked great.

He looked very very explosive and powerful.

But he still has the same flaws, backing in straight lines and such, which Ward would capitalize on again. But a fight with the winner of Bute-Froch would be an intriguing fight and I think Kessler could sparkle Bute.

:deal it was a pretty good fight. But then Kessler always delivers a decent spectacle.

Hopkins is old, but do represent a match-up problem for Mikkel.. But it isn't an unwinnable fight imo..
Dirrell and Ward are too young and too fast at this stage.
Bute still has some question marks, but yeah he would likely beat Kessler.
Cloud and Pascal are still very winnable fights for Kessler, a prime Kessler would have beaten both of them up..

Kessler looks a shadow of his fromer self IMO. Fair play to him for recovering from a shaky start and smashing Green with a great left hook but Green is ****.

Kessler will get KO'd soon at the top level.

Ward is ducking his career high payday vs Bute(should he beat Froch).

Will a healthy Kessler turn down nearly 3.5 million dollars AGAIN int he evt Bute beats Froch.

I guess the ????? is "Does Kessler want to go out on top vs short $$$ guys like Cleverly, Shumenov, and Steiglitz? Or does Kessler want the biggest payday and the most legitimate title of the weight classes?

My guess is he ducks Bute once again in favor of chasing a fight with the Ward/Dawson winner(Ward):patsch

The first thing I thought of when he connected with that hook was Don Curry putting Milton McCrory in la-la land.About as well timed and picture-perfect a knockout blow as you'll ever see.

Ducking Bute to take a harder fight doesn't make alot of sense.
