its a figure that represents the time it takes to build up abs ranging from 1 year to 10+ years. do you not understand this? im simply saying that you can work and get abs quick for some people and other people it takes along time. its not that you magically get abs after 10 years but instead that if youve been trying for abs for 6 years it could very well take you another 6.

abs are muscles. your saying that the size of your muslces is genetic?....think about that....then you can go about showing me the baby pictures of a ripped ronnie coleman and his ripped parrents.

where am i getting this stuff? greys anatomy.....theres even a nice little picture detaling all the tendons and the muscles.....people are born with a tendon down the middle of their rectus abdomonis and 3 tendons across making every one have 8 seperate sections to thier abs.....unless the person is genetiacly born with out a rectus abdomonis muscle genetics can not stop some one from getting a 6 pack or even an 8 pack if they keepa t it long enough.

He's not fat but he has a higher percentage of bodyfat than a Josh Clottey which is why his abs aren't as visible. Clottey is more explosive than Calzaghe, just because he runs alot of miles doesn't mean he doesn't do more strength and plyometric work than Calzaghe. There are different types of fitness, Calzaghe is not an explosive athlete and that's mainly to do with the way he trained.
If you have a low bodyfat percentage you can see abs, that's all it is. Calzaghe was not a strength athlete, he was an endurance athlete so his body was trained to hold onto abit of extra energy.
If Calzaghe now that he isn't boxing did strength exercises occasionally and that's all he did while watching what he eats he'd have more visible abs than when he was fighting most likely.
I don't know why you showed a picture of Ricky Hatton..? He'd get very lean for his fights, I guarantee you he was doing more strength and explosive training than Calzaghe would. Calzaghes skills and stamina is what made him, he wouldn't be able to do **** in another sport, he's not an impressive athlete.

Actually, this just proves my point even more. Hatton not giving a **** about diet = fat Hatton. Picture above is watching his diet for a fight. Having Kerry Kayes, an ex bodybuilder as his nutritionist is an advantage.

The picture proves absolutely nothing about genetics.

Anybody who competes at world level boxing in a series of 12 round fights is an impressive athelete !!

You can tell his body fat by looking at him, thats nice.

You know how he loses fat and makes weight? Eating the correct amount of healthy food. How do you not understand this yet?

Looking at his pictures, Cal is nowhere near 10% bodyfat, he looks closer to 15% at a guess.

Why are you going on about muscle and steroids?

He's an impressive boxer, not an all round athlete.

You can give a rough estimation, yeah.

How do you know he is not an all round thelete ?

No you cant give a rough estimation, it could easily be off by 5%

There is no general definite answer on abs I think most would agree with this.

    Just clarifying what Lefty said.

    That's why I said a rough estimation...

What does this even mean? Having low body fat means you will have defined abs, if you disagree, you have no clue.

Joe has low body fat , a rough estinmation is not good enough , he could have 15 % it could be 10% , you simply do not know,:yep

I am sure its as low as can reasonably be, but where are the abs :blood

Is Joe not working hard enough, not dieting enough for you mr virus ?

He does not have defined abs.

Genetics play a hug part in abs and muscles on a whole, this is a fact.

"Why are you going on about muscle and steroids?" !

You brought Kayes into it and that was what he was all about!

For the record Hatton looked just as well when he ditched Kayes so its a non issue none the less.

"You know how he loses fat and makes weight? Eating the correct amount of healthy food. How do you not understand this yet?"

Rubbish Hatton loses about 40 pounds in a short period due to high intensity work, a lot less food . No beer, etc sure he eats healthy for the camp period and I wouldnt want to imagine what he does before he steps on a scale he is always gaunt looking and wears a sauna suit a lot !

Ricky punishes his body to make weight, its not a matter of just eating healthy
