With Tsypko at no.2 and Andrade at no.3. We are probably just a few weeks from an official announcement by the IBF. They will call for negotiations between Sauerland and GBP for the title eliminator and the fight should take place early next year.

Meanwhile, Bute will get that bogus title defence against Sauerland's guy (Larsen) out of the way setting up the table for the rematch everyone wants to see.

    Bute-Andrade II

well, andrade should be able to get by tsypko so we will probably see a rematch between andrade and bute after all.

I would like to see a title fight for Andrade , and after that a rematch with bute for unification.

The first fight warrants for an immediate rematch, any eliminator is hokus pokus to save Bute time.

This should read "Bute-Tsypko for a shot at Andrade".

Bute has an optional title defense against Larsen that he can't get out of.

I'm not saying they would take an immediate rematch if it wasn't for that fight but it's a good excuse.

Like I said before he was suppose to make that fight back in April but he injured his knee and then was off for 6 months before he fought Andrade.

That's fishy and you know it, optional defense against a ranked #15 guy after a highly controversial fight, perhaps the most controversial fight in '08.

    It's not an excuse.

I've been talking about that fight for almost a year now. It's not like this "magically" appeared after the controversial fight with Andrade.

I've been telling you guys for months the contract Bute signed to fight Berrio for title said that in case of a win. Bute had to defend the title against one of Sauerland's fighters. It was the condition Sauerland asked for to let the Berrio-Bute fight happen in Montreal.

I'd prefer if Bute would fight Tsypko (another Sauerland fighter) instead of Larsen but you have to see this from Sauerland's angle. With Larsen fighting Bute and Tsypko fighting in a title eliminator for a shot at Bute. He gets 2 chances at winning the title instead of only one.

Personally, I wish this would all go away and we could set the table for Bute-Andrade right away or possibly a fight against an opponent well known in the USA. But I understand the politics of boxing.

What is Bute and his team suppose to do? Not make that title defense that is required by the contract they signed? Sauerland could sue them and prevent Bute from fighting until everything is settled in court.

Either way. We don't get the fight we want...

I just remembered an IBF rule that says a fighter that lost his last fight can't fight a title eliminator.

So either Andrade will have to fight an easy tune up of the IBF will allow him to fight the eliminator because of special circumstances (controversy).

They did it for Ngoudjo after his "lost" to Malignaggi.

Ah, yes, that rule...By rating Andrade below Tsypko, the IBF have signalled that they won't let him fight an eliminator straight away, I think. Can't be sure, though.

Tsypko is bound to be involved in an eliminator one way or another. I think the IBF want Andrade to get a win before giving him the eliminator shot. It doesn't have to be against anyone good, though, because he's ranked just after Tsypko. They could have ranked Bika or Berrio or Taylor ahead of him, thereby forcing him to fight someone ranked to get an eliminator shot. They didn't. Andrade is only ranked with the IBF, so they could have forced his hand; if they both remain unbeaten, Bute and Andrade are bound to meet again next year, so we'll all be happy.

Personally, I'd like Andrade to fight Bika or Berrio, but will GBP put the money to make that fight, when they don't have to? They might instead just put Andrade against a body to make him look good and give him confidence, given that he's going to get the eliminator shot anyway, once he wins.

Tsypko will be waiting for the eliminator shot; he won't be even enganged in a tune-up it seems. Good luck to him; he'll need it!

What I don't get is why Lacy is still ranked as high as that! Even more screwed up is that he is ranked ahead of Taylor, who just beat him! :nut And what is Miranda doing up there?? And why do they have Bika as representing South Africa??

    :patsch

    1 NOT RATED
    2 Vitaly Tsypko
    3 Librado Andrade
    4 Robert Stieglitz
    5 Sakio Bika

    7 Jeff Lacy
    8 Jermain Taylor
    9 Edison Miranda
    10 Andre Direll
    11 Jesse Brinkley
    12 Allan Green
    13 Andre Ward
    14 Karoly Balzsay
    15 Mads Larsen

Ranking are always late on fight results. They are voted during board meetings and then they update the website. These rankings were most likely made 1-2 weeks ago before the Lacy-Taylor fight.

Also, Tsypko can't be rated lower then 2nd because he earned that spot by winning a title eliminator. That's why Andrade is 3rd and the no.1 spot is vacant. That's the mandatory challenger's spot.

It all makes sense. Thanks, Maxime!:good

What do you think Andrade will do next, before his eliminator against Tsypko?

It's funny that this happened and Andrade said he will most likely never get to fight Bute again. :think

Andrade seems confused about many things. He's a fighter, not a promoter/manager or even a fan of boxing. He just waits to be told the score by GBP. Nothing wrong with that. He's great for boxing because he fights the best anywhere, anytime, coming to win, giving his all, and because he is a respectful and nice guy. That's all that matters.

Don't worry; if he doesn't lose his tune up, Andrade will get a shot at Tsypko and Tsypko is very beatable. Unless Bute loses in the meantime, in a voluntary defence, Andrade will face him by next autumn.

And...if Bute loses in the meantime, and Andrade becomes Champ, Andrade should bloody well keep to his word that he'd do everything in his power to fight Bute again and give Bute a voluntary shot at the title!:bart :D
