Yip I remember that, I'm sure Tsyzu had just caught Hatton, then immediately he returned it back.

I'm actually wondering how many of you actually saw the fight? Kostya gave as good as he got. He was out hustled by Hatton. Sure Hatton used dirty tactics, but this is the fight game we are talking about. it's not ballet.

The same goes for all the pussies who bitched and moaned about Wards tactics in his fight with Kessler.

Basically this. i would also like to add that in the past i complained that Zu could not use his left hand effectively. His left hook was one of the weakest punches i have ever really seen. It was a complete non factor.

I had never really noticed how bad of a punch , that left hook by Zu.

All Hatton wanted to do the whole 1st half of that fight was throw 1 punch, rush, hug, wrestle. Mayweather was trying to keep him off. The ref finally put an end to it, and then you saw the difference in skills. But the 3 or 4 rounds of that fight were practically unwatchable due to Hatton's ugly tactics.

hatton only has very short arms, mayweather has a 7" reach advantage over him. hatton has to get close or he hasn't got a chance. earlier on in the fight it was mayweather doing the grabbing and wrestling as soon as hatton got close.

That's true, Hattons vs Tzyu fight in US would have looked like Maywether vs Hatton but a little bit early ending, let say around round 7,8

I just recently rewatched that fight. Yes Mayweather would grab Rick after had just rushed him and woudl be trying to dig his head into Mayweather's neck. Nobody is saying that Mayweather didn't hold, or use elbows to push Hatton off, but it ALL stems from Ricky's mugging style. Again, I am more of a Hatton fan than I am a Floyd fan, but it was what it was.

I think a lot is said to discredit hattons win that night....

Hatton was beating him up, plain and simple... physically, mentally, everything.... there is a reason Kostya didnt want to go another 3 minutes, and instead opted to quit on his stool.

Hatton hit his peak imo in that fight.... against an aging Kostya who was at the end of his career anyways. But take nothing away from Hatton, Kostya was supposed to beat him (he had just prior demolished sharmba and was still a p4p fighter) but Hatton pulled out the win that night.

Your typical young undefeated future champion coming into his own and beating an older, greater legend....

Hatton never surpassed Kostya though, and i think many people are bitter about the fight because they know Kostya would have probably beat Hatton up thouroughly had he been in his prime..... and with Hatton for whatever reason being disliked as much as he is, people like to come up with excuses as to why he beat kostya, who was liked, and a greater fighter. But regardless..... not many people other then hatton would have been able to do what he did that night (make kostya quit) and although he wasnt prime, kostya was still a very good fighter...

But like i said, just one of those times when a young undefeated future champion beats a greater fighter whos a bit past it, it comes with some good and some bad.... part of the sport it is though.

was a great fight, well worth a watch. that was peak hatton in that ring when he could actually absorb a punch and when he could fight for 3 minutes of every round.
