Reading posts like this Makes me wonder who is becoming the myth you talked about with your nonsense post.. Floyd schooling and stopping Prime Tszyu... too bad he could not do this kind of fantasy beatings far lesser men than PRIME Tszyu:yep
Tsyzu in his prime wins, if Floyd would fight him. Mayweather would be too defensive and lose b/c of it.
The myth of Tszyu? So Tszyu became one of the best amateurs in the last 30 years and had a fantastic pro career including being an undisputed champ thanks to one weapon? Kostya was an incredible boxer, more so than Floyd who relys on athleticism as much as anything else. Watch Kostyas early fights whether as a pro or an amateur, he beat plenty of slicksters as well as tall rangy guys. The interesting thing about this match up is that despite popular opinion, floyds style is not all wrong for kostya, who in all his rounds to slicksters probably only lost 1 to zab. Kt's achilles heal if anything was tough gritty pressure fighters, which is not Floyd. Now, in terms of floyds weakness though he had a great ability to adjust, as did kostya mind you, he looked very uncomfortable against castillo, who's strength and pressure gave him all kinds if issues. Kt is far stronger, punches harder as well as being a better thinker than Castillo. It would have been a hell of a match, but of that fought anytime before 2005 Id have bet on kt.
Even a washed up old Roger was crafty enough to last the distance... KT was a very good fighter (borderline great) but Floyd is all wrong for him.. He would be dangerous early, have a few moments with May covering up and, on the go a few times but overall Mayweather counters him avoids most of Kts shots and wins a decisive and boring decision... 117-112 117-111 type decision.
:rofl at some of the silliness in this thread. Someone compared Tszyu to Corrales. Corrales was a plodder; Tszyu was a great offensive fighter and his forward shuffle with which he closed the distance in a split second was peerless. Tszyu a simple boxer, nothing more than a right hand? 120-108? He was a boxer, a master boxer to be more precise. He ate slicksters for breakfast, dinner and supper. A great amateur and a great pro, the complete package. Mayweather could have fought Tszyu but he chose his sparring partner Corley when he moved to 140 instead -- then fought Brusseles and Gatti. Don't give me that different networks bull****. If Floyd wanted it they would have fought on HBO for big money. Having said that I think Floyd takes it by 115-113 type of decision.
find me a quote from Zoo stating he wanted to fight Floyd. I can find a few from Floyd, but none from Kosta :deal
I hate it when people try to compare everybody to Castillo. They said Baldomir was a muc bigger Castillo and would be Floyd's toughest fight atsch Please enough with these comparisons
Interesting fight. I'd have to edge Kostya. He thrived on beating slick boxers - even ones who appeared unbeatable. Kostya fought and beat guys like Floyd. Floyd never faced anything like Kostya. Floyd had great skills, he'd have to pull the fight of his life to win it on points. In the meantime, he probably gets KO'd by a straight right more perfectly timed than anything he has seen (and which he wont see coming).
