This is an interesting matchup. This would not be easy for either fighter..Prime for prime I would pick Tszyu

Pea your assesment isnt quite correct. You greatly understate Tszyus abilities.
    You're a Pryor fan so I understand

Tszyu was certainly past it, but more importantly in the Hatton fight he was wrestled and ball punched to death:deal

I don't think Tszyu would beat Arguello so that sort of answers the question for me about his chances against Pryor.

    Very funny.

Please tell me who Pryor faced that was remotely close to a prime Tszyu?:huh

KT always has a punchers chance but so did Alexis who had some really heavy hands as well. Plus KT would have a hard enough time beating the man Pryor has already beaten TWICE in Alexis.

THe movement, skills and angles that Pryor has in his offenseive game would be far too much for KT to overcome. Again....KT's only chance at beating a PRIME Aaron Pryor would be to catch him with one of those straight rights.

Which is possible but highly unlikely given that Pryor is far superior than KT in the Speed, skills, talent and stamina departments. Bth have a championship heart and both have POWER. KT a bit more but Pryor has a better chin.

Look...I like KT but lets get back to reality....KT is a very soild welter weight...one of the best Australian fighters ever...but overall he's not close to what Aaron Pryor was in his hay day. Not even close.

I disagree. Once Pryor felt Tszyu's power, he would tighten up. Pryor was a more intelligent fighter than he is given credit for, he wouldn't have kept leaving himself open if he was being hurt, he only fought like that against Arguello because he felt strong enough to get through Alexis's attacks and wear the great man down. I envisage Pryor and Tszyu having an absolute war, not a gung-ho brawl, but a proper 'violent chess-match' (the great quote describing Whitaker-McGirt I) which would be technical but furious. Pryor would have the chin, the stamina and the resilience to withstand Tszyu's shots, but as the fight went on and both tired a little, Tszyu would crumble under Pryor's eventually. Pryor by late stoppage after a classic fight.

    IMO :bbb

Arguello. Even though Pryor beat him, the jww version of Arguello would still have beaten 90% of the jww's of history h2h. He would have beaten Tszyu for sure IMO.

ALEXIS!!!:patsch BOth KT and Alexius were power punchers.....depending on the right hand...but Alexis is actually BETTER than KT. He may not have as much Power but it's not a vast disparity in the power dept. Alexius was a better technician with better foot work that is for sure and he threw combo's more accuratley more often. Over all there is no comparison between Pryor & KT.....You can make a case that KT is closer to Alexius in terms of skills, talent, style, power ect...but like Arguello.....his "Daddy" was Aaron as would KT had they met in their primes.

:-( Again some are overcome by nostalgia....Arguello was a great LW but well past it when Pryor(prime) fought him.
A prime Tszyu would MURDER Pryor!! The difference in quality of opposition is other worldly as is the overall skill level

My man! I can't see where all this is coming from? There really is no comparing KT to Pryor at all. Pryor is just a better fighter in almost all aspects of the game.

Tszyu was much more versatile than Arguello. Overall skill, its not even close...Again Arguello was a way past it LW fighting at 140. The fact that Arguello gave Pryor such a hard time should be a good indicator that Pryor wouldnt be able to deal with a prime Tszyu. For ****sake whats wrong with you?:huh

I can say with absolute certainty that nostalgia has nothing to do with my opinions about Pryor. I was probably older than you are today when I watched him fight and I couldn't stand him. Respected him as a fighter but beyond that I thought he was kind of a jerk.

Its the same way with Monzon. I watched him for years, rooting against him, but always coming away disappointed.

Nostalgia I reserve for fighters that I had a soft spot for.
