Was talk of it been very close to been made if Tszyu had got past Phillips which he didn't. Was only ever gonna happen in or around that time because Oscar was moving up. I still don't think Tszyu hit his absolute best until around the Hurtado and Gonzalez fights. It would of been a very good fight i reckon, 2 guys with great boxing brains and power at 140.

Lean towards Oscar, but not that confident, 140 was a good weight for Oscar. I think he has too much speed for Tyszu and would be able to get in and out like Mitchell managed at times but he has the power to do more damage. Tyszu would look to stalk, time those great rights and bodypunches and it could be really exciting, Oscar is at his best against come forward fighters

de la Hoya would win a fairly comfortable decision.

This is meant as no slur on Kostya Tszyu, who was an excellent talent.

But de la Hoya was one heck of a 140lber, who could compete with not just the bottom all-time top 10 ers of the 140lbs division (like Tszyu), but the cream at the top like Cervantes, (prime 140lbs) Chavez, Benitez and Pryor.

DLH too quick and his chin is too good not to win a comfortable decision and maybe stop Tsyzu late

Oscar certainly...but Tszyu would push him fairly hard at times. I think it probably goes the rounds as Oscar begins to play it safe down the stretch.

BLH I think Tszyu hit the pro ranks in his peak and if anything gradually declined throughout his career...He had a bit of a resurgence because he went back to being a bit more of a boxer, though he wasnt as good physically IMO...and the reason he got away with it for so long was a relatively weak division at the time.

My Tszyu bias wants me to say Tzyu so bad.... but i don't know... De La Hoya had some pretty good speed at that weight.

    I think Oscar obliterates him.

People often underrate Oscar looking back: He'd have been an absolute wrecking ball at 140.

Faster than Tsyzu, hit harder, just as durable, and just as good a boxer, if not a better one thanks to his sterling jab.

I think DLH runs over him, to be honest. Just a horrible match up for Kostya.

oscar was a different level of fighter than kostya. that, plus the size difference would have been a nightmare for tzsyu.

Tszyu would have stopped DLH, ended his career and left Oscar with more time for cross dressing and his other ***gy hobbies.

That was thanks to his shitty ****ing trainer in Lewis. Similar things happened to guys like Darchinyan and Jirov.

Johnny Lewis was known to be more of a conditioning guy rather than strategy and the technical aspects. It's painfully obvious watching Tszyu's career how his boxing ability and technical skills (which were ****ing phenom'esque) withered and deteriorated under Lewis.
