I see Locche pilling up points on Tszyu early but ultimately getting wore down by Tszyu's pressure and strength. I like Tszyu in this one but could see why some would go with Locche on points.
Tszyu is made to look bad but Locche having no offense kills him here and he loses on points anywhere but Argentina.
I tend to agree RC and I like KT a lot.. Locche to clever for KT when he's trying to land his straight right from the outside
I too like KT, but Locce is a bad matchup for him. He wouldn't touch Locce, just too slick. And Locce has no offensive shills??? I haven't seen much footage of him, but what I saw he seemed like an excellent counterpuncher.
Locche by UD in Argentina but anywhere else i'm not so sure because although Tszyu will hit nothing but fresh air at least 80% of the time, Locche's low work rate may cost him.
Interesting fight. Tszyu, oddly enough, tended to fair well against guys who were a little slicker, faster and more movement/defensively-minded than he was, albeit not without some occasional early difficulties (Gonzalez, Hurtado, Judah, Mitchell etc.) and struggled with brawlers who muscled him and stayed in close to make it a gruelling fight (Phillips and Hatton). If you let him build forward momentum and give him the green light to initiate the exchanges, he could be a very hard guy to stop and deal with, even if you had the physical advantages. But Locche, of course, is a step up from the likes of Judah and Hurtado, if not in raw speed and footwork then certainly in unpredictability, reflexes and upper body movement. Unless you're an all-round defensive extraordinaire who combines movement with hand and foot speed of the first rank (e.g., Pernell, Benny etc.) then there's not a feather-fisted fighter around 140 who is beating Tszyu. You need to be able to make him anxious about throwing, rough him and break his momentum. I just don't think Locche had enough in his own shits to do that. Don't get me wrong, Locche will be making him miss a lot, but Nicolino's defensive style was to plant his feet and trade off his reflexes and movement from the waist rather than use the ring. I could see this being a fight where Tszyu doesn't look that impressive, but works his way to a points win as Locche just can't find a way in to the fight from an offensive point of view. Styles make fights, and I think this could be one of those cases where the lesser historical fighter just has the right strengths to beat the better overall man.
I agree with your take on that match but I feel Tszyu is the superior historical fighter too. May be in the minority on that opinion but I feel Tszyu was superb.
