Too soon to say for sure for me. 140's gotten a hell of alot better lately, and the opposition is there now for Hatton to really carve himself a nice little legacy at the weight provided he sticks around long enough to do it.

No really it wont. Hattons career is as good as done. This is a man that had 15 defences of the WBU. Thats not a legacy its a dead liberty. One victory over man who had a foot in retirement is certainly not the defining moment of a very opportune career.

 

Shame I didn't mention "one victory", nor did I say he's already got a legacy at the weight.

What I said was if he decides to stick around for awhile, the division's strong enough for him to build a nice little legacy for himself.

Ok lets break this down logically. Its pretty clear Hatton is at the tail end of his career. He has already said this. Now taking those FACTS into consideration how is he going to carve out a legacy for himself at 140 when he already has had 45 fights and said he only has 2 or so many fights left? Historially he has always avoided the toughest challenges in his division and taken the more lucrative options first.

No your right i dont know boxing at all. Considering Hattons past he`s going to be around for some time and fight all contenders in sight.

 

what i said was a dig at hatton so no, i dont think hatton is the greatest at light welter. i'm not a hatton fan mate, he just caught tszyu at the right time.

 

You're right, here. 2 fights isn't enough for that. He'd have to put in at least 4-5 more good fights against tough comp over the next 2-3 years for his resume to stand up to critical scrutiny. There's a good chance he won't last that long or continue winning, but there's no sense in judging a book's ending when it hasn't been written yet. There's plenty of world-class depth at the weight, it's just a matter of how much of it Hatton faces before he bows out. Hopefully he sticks it out for longer than a couple fights.

Just because Hatton beat Tszyu doesn't make Hatton better than Tszyu.
