he doesn't need the rematch, he just needs to keep winning against top opponents after the king fight.

all fighters have a questionable bout on their record, doesn't mean he can't move on from it. we will soon see whether it was just a hiccup or not though.

the diff is that a lot of those other fighters with questionable results aren't 38 and fighting demetrius king next. I like Tua and hope too that he was legitimately injured vs monte (who looked good too) and that's why he didn't look too good, but all we've gotten in the past several years is excuses and inactivity.
On a semi side note, how did Tua with his name get in a situation where he's broke and stuck fighting **** competition for soo long? He might never have been a long reigning champ, but given the excitement he generates he shoulda been well off by now. His money must have already been fukked up when he got himself in this contract with all these fights and still broke i guess

Apparantly he was ripped off by his manager, kevin Barry I think. Took em to court and all that. Anyway thats why hes stuck with a shitty contract playing nobodies..

Although not sure about his current trainer.. he dont seem to be anygood either. Maybe he had to go cheap there?

    I might go watch it

Tua lost his money to the lawyers who were handling his case with Kevin Barry and his financial advisor, Martin Peewww. It went on for 8 years!!!

He's fighting Barrett II cause he agreed to come over to NZ, which not a lot of good fighters would do. And they can exploit the grudge rematch.

But I agree. He needs to weight 235. And he needs to bypass Barrett and fight Arreola at the Staples Center. Barrett is a side show, and a waste of time. I'm not defending Tua as much as telling you what happened. And I'm one of his biggest supporters. He's made some bad decisions throughout his career, like taking two, 2 year lay-offs during his prime. He'll break your heart if you're a Tua fan.

FFS ****ing ametuers. That's riduculous. Heart of the Waikato and can't get Maori TV.

I might email them and explain the internet to them. Not that I ever get a reply either. What kind of rubbish business model doesn't reply to their customers.

Yes, David Tua is 38, and still one of the most entertaining fighters around, in a fight in which he MUST look spectacular tonight

I want to see it, most boxing fans should.
