Is anyone else a little suspicious of this sudden Tua comeback against a K2 opponent, promoters are hyping it up saying Tua is hungrier than ever..?? and now Vitali mentioning he'd be closer to a title shot should he win???? Seems as though Vitalis contriving an easy defence in Tua? It all seems like a bit of a setup...:deal
You honestly think Ustinov is going to trow his career away to give the soon retiring Vitali an easy title defence? :blood If Vitali wants an easy defence he can do so without any elaborate hoax and just browse trough the WBC list. Or just fight Ustinov himself when he beats Tua's ass. Scrap that all by the way... his #1 is freakin' Stiverne, the guy that made old and shot Austin look like prime Larry Holmes before he finally put him away.
Vitali has Stiverne then most likely Mitchell who is #5 in the WBC and just beat #2 so provided he beats Stiverne Mitchell will probably be #1 and another easy fight for him he would even at 42 destroy Mitchell.
its odd that tua is coming back he got beat and dropped by Barret who was nothing more than a decent gate keeper Dont really want to see him fight Vitali pointless fight -
Yeah! I was going to make a topic about this when I first heard it. The cynical side in me says what they are attempting to do (K2 Promotions) is set Vitali up for a final big legacy fight, involving one of Lennox Lewis's former opponents. Vitali's career is drawing to a close, an the only question on his resume is the TKO loss to Lennox. So the only comparisons outside that fight regard to similar opposition each guy faced. I'll guess Bernd Bonte an Tom Loffler want to cement his final Record by being able to say Vitali was the 1st to Knock out Tua, (Lennox couldn't), I think they were abit embarrassed that Shannon Briggs went the distance with Vitali, while Lewis stopped him. It suggests to most people that Lennox was always the marginally better one. An that wont be the case with Tua, he's completely shot now.. It does look like a set up!
