i think he deserves as much of a shot as Tony thompson did..

He will come forward and make it a fight

which is better than most Klitchsko Bore Fests..

Tua still has a bit of speed and power and always a chance his left hook connects.

Escaping with a draw against Monte Barrett isn't enough to get a shot at one of the Klitschko's in my book.

I also very much doubt it would be entertaining - Tua would probably walk forward and eat jab after jab, just like he did in the Lewis fight.

Either Klit would likely drop Tua inside 6 rounds. Theres always a hail mary chance for Tua against Wlad esp. in the early rounds, but he's got to earn that title shot first. He fought Barrett pretty well in the first 5 rounds, but then completely fell apart after that.

AGREED ....whats the alternative? sure I want Haye or maybe Adamek but after that who? plenty of Fat cans out there who will get a chance why not Tua?

actually I would love a Arreola vs Tua scrap but they wont let Areola near the TUA man

Tua just got outboxxed by a shot Barret who was never even good to begin with, Both Klits win EVERY single round against him, and likely stop him as well.

Tua is horrible nowadays. Maybe he can still be decent against guys who stand their ground and don't move but I don't know.

Monte Barrett is no good fighter these days.

Barrett, who was thrashed so many times in the recent past, went the distance with him and even dropped Tua and took Tua to a draw.

Tua needs to beat, not draw, someone of more merit than Barrett to get a titleshot.

Tua don't have it anymore. I openly admit that and I am a big fan of Tua.

He's done at the world level........fact.

The recipe to get a titleshot in HW seems to be quite simple. You just need to have a good name (no matter if it is based on achievements from another century) and fight one bum after another. Examples: Briggs (2x), Rahman, Holyfield.

Tua definitely has a good name. But that is about it. Whatever you may think about Briggs, he fought 5x a year before he got his chance against Lyakovich, and now when he is apparently trying to do the same trick again, he is/was even fighting one week after another. And, whenever he beats a bum, at least he does it convincingly. With all that, I am not saying Briggs should get another titleshot... so why should it be granted to someone fighting twice a year and getting questionable draws?

It's 2010, I think it's time we end the love affair with Tua.
(Good guy, But he should have done what most think before now!)

Exactly. He didn't beat any semi-decent opponent since Oquendo, and it was ages ago.

In boxing you are as good as your last fight, so just to summarize Tua's recent achievements:
    2008 - not active
2009 - one win over nobody
2010 - one win over nobody, one lucky draw against past-prime gatekeeper.
That together makes 2 wins in 3 years, and a draw (which should be a loss) with retiring Barrett.

He deserves a titleshot even less than Sosnowski.
