hey Chauncy.......people say a lot of things eh. Like a fat white dorky guy cant last long or will be useless after 3 rounds.....but they are always sosurprised when they see something thats not expected of a tubby fighter.u know wot im saying homes. Inactivity is another thing that most think is a bad omen too. Klit had 4 years off.- then won easily Floyd had 2 years off-then won easily David had 2 years off -then...
I hate to say it, but I better get in before a Klit or Mayweather nuthugger does. Tua didn't exactly keep himself in shape the way Klit and Mayweather did Stormy... Personally I think Tua's inactivity may have a silver lining. After all he hasn't been in the wars over the years that he would've been in, hasn't been training as hard etc... As a result surely his body is in better condition with less deterioration that others, I hear Rahman needs crutches after fights these days due to bad hips....
Chauncy, was trying to run your interview in the Sunday News on the Tua website, but couldn't get it electronically. You made an odd statement in the paper. In the first part of the interview, you said Cameron had the perfect strategy for Tua. Later, you said you didn't know what the strategy was. Can you clarify? Also, you said Tua was 1 dimensional. You haven't sparred with Tua in 5 years! Don't you think he may have learned something different from Bloodworth? As you know, I'm a huge fan of yours. Did Friday contact you about being on the undercard with you? So happy you've lost some of the weight. You're looking good!
First off, thanks for the weight compliment. Second, I do think Dave could have learned something with Bloodworth, I just think he's kinda set in his ways after 50 so odd fights. Dave is a very smart guy but I think he might wanna get Shane outta there fast as he seems to really dislike Shane. It has been awhile since I sparred Tua, but as soon as someone gets hit with a good one, gameplan goes out the window for Tua and bombs and hooks away it will be. I am not saying Dave is a bad fighter. I personally count Dave as one of the top punchers in the history of the game. I just think his best days may be behind him. Age catches all of us. As far as the Cameron gameplan goes, from what he is doing or has done in camp, it's been smart, and very suprising. I don't know exactly what the gameplan is, but from what I've seen it'll be his fight. stratagy is very suprising. I think Shane will win, but any result wont be greatly suprising. It's be like Kobe Bryant vs. Michael Jordan in a 1on1 basketball game. Jordans probably to past it to take him but would keep it interesting, but he might shine for just long enough to take the game. Great fight where no matter who you're betting, you always got in the back of your mind the other guy could take it. As for Friday, Luis Tapia contacted me and said there wouldn't be enough money for me to fight Friday, and their hoping to fight the winner.
The very fact that people are talking about Tua at this stage clearly illustates how shallow the heavyweight pool is right now.
Ruizfan - there are a bunch of us who would love to see him take on Ruiz again. Knocked him cold in 19 secs last time. What do you think?
