Like I said, not to be taken seriously .. not when you try and classify Langford and Louis with Dempsey and Marciano ...
He never was. Tua would **** up his pathetic E-Social workers who want to wipe his ass and at the same time take shots at him saying he can't feed himself. Tua got a fortune spent on him to get his ass into shape against Byrd and he got schooled.
Tua will weigh 400 pounds upon his full retirement from boxing in the near future. I can see it coming. As it is, the sum ***** is damn near wide as he is tall. Tua telegraphs his left and right swings way too hard. He used to be a sharper, more crisp puncher. That is a clear sign of age and regression. SR.BILL
He has but in fairness, Ruiz was green, Moorer was old and Maskaev was not at his best Rahman he did KO but the draw in the rematch did not impress me and out of all there chins Ruiz may have had the best one but in the Tua fight he got caught cold at a stage before he hit the big league
Louis...Ok. I think Marciano and Dempsey would beat Langford. :good You cannot be taken seriously if you try to put Langford on a higher pedastal than Marciano. Langford would have had a very very hard time with Charles 2x, Walcott 2x, Louis, Moore. Even the versions Marciano faced...I don't think Langford goes any better than 4-2. Sam on film was wide open for a left jab..with his non existent head movement..he was also vulnerable to combination punchers. Sam at times could be very aggresive..but he lost his defense when he became aggresive..which is why I think Jack Johnson always beats him. he would have gotten countered to death. I think a fighter like Walcott with slick moves/feints/terrific jab/ and knockout power would have beaten Sam. Charles with his combination punching, fast straight punching, and countering abilities would have beaten sam too. Sam always has a chance for a knockout though....
Moorer could've done better in 2002 against Tua had Moorer warmed-up in the back and came out circling with his basic stutter-step jazz and popping a right jab........ But no, Moorer comes walking straight out and meets Tua in ring center where he begins to trade. BIG MISTAKE! 30 seconds later---Moorer out like a bulb on a street corner..... Moorer's battle plan was lame...... A good / seasoned boxer with skills should NEVER challenge a swarming puncher like Tua inside the first "3" rds of a fight........ NOW! Countering after making your punching attacker miss, is one thing, but clearly trading and going for broke is just dumb, early on that is..... Moorer was dumb...... STILL! Stylewise, Tua was gonna walk the 2002 Moorer down sooner or later for the TKO / KO..... MR.BILL
But hey, if a guy has power, that's what happens. If you have power in the heavyweight division, they can **** your mother or daughter or both, and guys will forgive them. If you don't have power, they wouldn't **** on fire to put you out.
Christ, my "Tua-Moorer" tape is in public storage...... I'd like to recall WTF Ol' Moorer weighed for Tuaman........... But, as it seems, Moorer was not grossly outta shape like he was for some earlier fights....... I admit, I hated seeing Moorer over 230 pounds since he was too fleshy in the girth area, but he did appear ready to rumble when he clocked Vass Jirov in 2004 at age 36 and 247 freaking pounds...... In my view, Michael Moorer never looked better as a heavy as he did in 1994 at 214 pounds for his win over Holy.......... That being in a "Physical" sense. MR.BILL
Tua is just being a part time fighter. His genetics and stamina suck if hes not in training year round. This is the same Tua that weve seen in the last 10 years. He needs to fight every other month and get himself into decent shape. They're trying to give him stiffs and secure a title shot, and hes going to get his butt kicked just like he did last night. If he doesnt want to get into shape he should hangem up. Tua was a good fighter in the 90's not great but good enough to catch up with these guys who could box him for 9-10 rounds, because he was in good shape. Now hes not and combined with his age, its really showing.
Tua is very good, but not great. His power and chin are imposing, but his lack of reach/height plus his slow feet take its toll. Byrd toyed with him when he was in great shape. His fight last night reminded me of the Rahman rematch - the unrightful verdict included. It's worth mentioning that Barret exchanged with Tua on several occasions, including when he knocked the Samoan down during the last round. Guys with good footwork and a solid jaw, like Walcott, would give him Hell, and then some. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ja71FoZQrfY[/ame]
