It's a good one, Lewis uses good movement and a consistant jab (singles, doubles, triples, to the head and the body) to befuddle Tua. Round 12 is sublime sweet science.
One of those fights that may not get the blood racing but technically is fantastic.

But my own top 5 Lewis performances are (in no particular order) :

    Lewis-Ruddock
    Lewis-Morrison
    Lewis-Golota
    Lewis-Holyfield I
    Lewis-Rahman II

Rahman II, Golota, Tua, Tyson were his best performances.

Holyfield 2?? I thought it was one of Lewis' worst. The 1st one was good though.

The Ruddock blowout was Lewis' best performance.

His win against Tua win was a good win though, against an iron jawed ATG puncher- the action itself wasn't sky high in the entertainment stakes by any stretch, but it was a smart and well excecuted fightplan which got the job done well without taking too many big risks.

I liked the fight against Mercer, damn it was close, Mercer, though giving away in height and reach won the jab contest decisively, but I agree dat Lewis-Rahman 2 was damn good he knocked him out cold

Excellent Lewis performance, but a relatively safe fight. No fighter that undersized would be a real danger to Lewis once he was trained by Steward. How he destroyed Ruddock and dominated Holyfield in the first fight was more impressive to me. While I do believe he got somewhat lucky against Vitali, I found it impressive how he dealt with being surprised by a fighter he thought he could just walk over.

Yeah, thre Rahman rematch was a terrific performance. As you say Lewis looked shaky early on against Briggs but totally turned the contest around: Briggs showed great heart getting up from all those knockdowns.

My favourite moment of that one was the way Lewis stood in front of Briggs (who'd just got a few good punches in), smiled back at him and then replied three savage punches of his own that sent Briggs towards the ropes and down to the canvas. :yep

Yeah, that whole fight is full of fantastic macho bull****. Lewis doing the Liston stare and refusing to back off, Briggs nodding and winking at the HBO team...

That bit you mentioned is the best, but I also love them grinning across the ring from their stools at each other between the 3rd and 4th rounds.

I first sat up and took notice of Lennox when he fought Gary Mason. I'd never seen anyone get near hurting Mason - but Lennox did - in fine style. Yet at the time no one seemed to rate Lennox highly - to me though he seemed a natural that would hold a good account of himself in the heavyweight scene. Golata was a good fight so was Rahman 2. He woz robbed in the 1st Holyfield fight.

Golata - there's another good fighter who lost it mentally before he even got in the ring. he was Beating Bowe hands down - yet keeps smacking him in the nuts. What a wasted talent.

Jerry Quarry another good 'un in his day - counter puncher extraordinaire - sadly fought on far too long & paid the price

It takes more than a left hook and a haircut to beat me .....

That line he said in some interview about Tua still cracks me up.

Good point. That's actually a very underrated fight in terms of entertainment value.
