Maybe after this, Tua and Mesi will progress to a real opponent from the top 50.

Tua v Mesi wouldn't be good IMO.

It would be 10 or 12 rounds of cringing every time Tua hit Mesi, wondering if his brain was going to explode again.

FNF....ESPN....or Versus would not pay the fee necessary to get all of these guys on one show. They may pay for one of the boxers but not all.
To see all of them requires someone to pay and that someone is...... the fans.

If they fought each other, the above networks may have picked it up and pay them all, moreover, the PPV status may have been right. However, they are fighting nobody's, thus, there is no justification for the PPV.

The thing that everyone goes on about being great in MMA is the top fighters fighting each other. Being on the same card is not the same!
I agree, Tua-Mesi would be scary, but how about Tua-Greenberg?

Tua would knock Greenberg out cold, even at this stage of his career. Greenberg is a KO waiting to happen, and Tua would MAKE it happen. :nod

    1) My guess is that this event will be shown around the world with international boxers such as Tua (New Zealand, Australia and South Pacific) Greenberg (Russia, Middles East and England) Montana (Mexico) Mesi (United States and Canada) and the replays on the various sports networks will probably give them far more exposure that ESPN2 or Versus.
    2) Where else are you going to see these fights on one card? ESPN2 or Versus might pay for one but not all.

I remember when Saul Montana was a blown up middleweight fighting at light heavy. Good to see he's gone places.

That's a good card, but not really worth pay-per-view. Although I never buy pay-per-views anyway.

If Jeremy Williams has anything left, he'll do some damage as a cruiser

" ESPN used to pay 50 to 70 thousand and Top Rank was the Big Daddy..Then USA jumped in the game and offered 35 to 50...USA hired a woman programer and Network Chief..She hated the image and made USA into the pablum Network..ESPN dropped their support by thousands and Top Rank said bye bye..Now the ESPN2 channel pays 25 K and if the main event is listed in 2 World Organizations they pay 30K...Wow BIG BUCKS..now you know why the big boys think twice about fighting on an ESPN card.. The Main and CO-Main comes out of the 25 and the promoter has to pay for the Hall,TV Lights,Security,Commission, Ambulance, Insurance .Fighter rooms and travel and meals...Now you know why any promoter thinks twice about doing the fights. The line forms on the right for any of you that want to be a promoter! You can't blame these guys for rolling the dice and trying to get enough buys to exceed the 25 or 30K given to them by the big spenders at ESPN2..."

Cool, a fat past his prime slow slugger against a journeyman, a nearly brain-damaged white hype against a tomato can, a never-was against a bum, and a feather-fisted boring prospect against the almight and dangerous To Be Announced: yes, great card.

    :yep :yep
