This fight really could happen if Haye doesn't want it. Wlad says he will fight "others" if that is the case. Tua is ranked highly enough - and is one of the few who could give Wlad trouble.
tua will not reach klitschko. i see him either losing a 120-108 decision in an optimistic (for him) but realistic scenario , or even getting stopped late on accumulation of damage . tua should better restrict himself to fighters up to 6'3"/6'2" max. haye is the best option for him if he wants a title , but haye's management will never let him fight tua , nor haye himself would ever do it. i think tua missed great opportunities when ibragimov and chagaev held belts. ibragimov might have had the balls to fight tua. don king would have never allowed ruiz to rematch tua and lose the belts. just like he did not allow valuev fight a klitschko , which i think could have been a good , or more than that fight , when valuev was in a relatively (for him) good condition.
Yes - but what if he reached him with just ONE clean hook? Tua would follow with a flurry if he just wobbled him a little. I think he would be all over Wlad - and it just takes ONE.
tua will not be able to land even a single left hook. if by some miracle he would , then that hook will be very weak and will lose all its power through the high altitude long range big stretch his hand will have to move. tua should better not fight anyone above 6'3".
This is what interests me to be honest. Tua showed some real commitment to his body attack during the Ahunanya fight, and IMO frequently let Friday off the hook after having him hurt with body shots. I've just watched that fight again, and honestly, Tua had Friday in all sorts of trouble a couple of times (in the later round particularly) and didn't go for the kill. Whether or not that was because he couldn't pull the trigger or not is up for debate I guess, but I tend to think he can on the evidence of the way he finished Cameron, so maybe there are other reasons. I remeber Tua having all sorts of trouble getting fights in his prime because of the risk he posed. So maybe going 12 with a journeyman like Friday isn't such a bad thing on that score, at least if it lessens the percieved risk he represents he might get a guy like Peter or Arreola in the ring with him, who knows... I tend to think Tua will have a really tough time with Wlad, basically down to Wlads style. That pawing jab Wlad seems to just leave out in front of himself is a pretty effective way to measure the gap, which Tua would have to close significantly to land anything given their respective heights / reaches. I dont think Wlad will throw anything approaching a hard enough shot to hurt Tua - not that he isn't capable, just that he's smart, he'll respect Tua's power and avoid it at all costs, which means no planting the feet to load up big right hands. So Tua's a huge underdog if this ever comes off, but having said all that, given that Tua has been at a height disadvantage to virtually everybody he's ever fought, he has more experience dealing with that particular disadvantage than anyone Wlads faced yet, and as has been said already given the power, jaw and finishing Tua brings to the ring he's a more interesting fight for Wlad than most of the rest of the division IMO.
Yes - he is an underdog And yes - it is an interesting match A lot will depend on the "heart" Tua brings to it
Great!!! Nice WBO, nice!!! Make it happen!!! Tired of Klits fighting absolute no-hopers: bring on the Tuaminator!!! He has a punchers chance, plus causes panicky Klit to even more panic!!! Good stuff!!!
Tua vs haye would be great, haye would have to KO the guy quickly imo, or he will be in deep ****, it would be bombs away
I think his current financial situation will take care of the "heart" part but the key is his fitness...
