    I'm not sure I'd pick Golota over anybody at this point, but rumor has it those two used to have some really heated sparring sessions back in the day where Golota usually got the best of him.

    To be fair, Tua was still a little green at that point and Golota was the more established and experienced.

    Yeah, ten years ago it might have been reasonable.

    Now it would be a senseless slaughter. Golota would make Cameron look like Ibeabuchi.

    Tua would wreck Adamek. Adamek is a great cruiser, but he shouldn't be messing with a killer like Tua.

    Well fighting Tua would be a big risk, no doubt. A risk that could ruin a potential big payday with Wlad.

    On the other hand, there's an upside to that risk, and if Adamek can beat Tua, it would cause monstrous waves throughout the heavyweight landscape.

    I would NOT advise Adamek to fight Tua in his next fight. BUT....stylewis, Adamek DOES have the tools to beat Tua. Maybe another fight or two down the road, it would be worth the risk.

    Tua has the big punch, and thus the small chance of scoring a KO.

    I agree with the spirit of this post. I was impressed with Tua, but his two round destruction of Cameron told us very little about where he really stands.

    People seem to forget that Tua falls into that pattern over and over again:

    1) Plod After Opponent
    2) Eat a Jab
    3) Reset
    4) Commence Plodding
    5) Repeat Cycle

    Lesser fighters than Adamek have been able to keep Tua at bay with this simple formula when Tua was still in his prime.

    I might give Tua a better chance than you are, but Adamek has the right tools to win this fight.

    Rummy how would Tomasz deal with the sustained relentless (and FAST) explosiveness of Tua in the last minute of the first round and the subsequent thirty seconds or however long the second lasted? He was able to elude Golota but Tua can move (and punch) much faster than that. :think

    Tua also showed glimpses of some improved head movement (again, as you said, it was too short to tell us how his new bag of tricks would help him against a top notch opponent) and wouldn't get hit by all the shots Golota did. In particular I thought he avoided getting peppered by Cameron's jab (which was decent).

    As I said, this would be a risk for Adamek.

    Lesser fighters than Adamek have been able to keep a prime Tua at bay for decent durations of time. Maskaev, Rahman, and even Doc Nicholson. Obviously, those guys are bigger than Adamek, but I don't think they're as quick on their feet or with their hands.

    I think Tua could follow the formula those two used and succeed over twelve rounds, but he will have to be in tip top shape and he will have to learn to clinch when Tua bulls in. Tua's strengths CAN be negated by a good jab, good movement, and strategic holding.

    I saw Tua's fights with Maurice Wheeler and Robert Hawkins.

    He did NOT look especially good in those fights, and was being throroughly outboxed by Wheeler before he scored the KO.

    On the other hand, Tua's problems are lack of dedication and preparation. He seems to be remotivated, which is a great thing. But how many rounds of eating jabs and plodding would it take for Adamek to frustrate him?

    I do not think Tua would be an easy fight for Adamek and I give Tua a hell of a chance. At the same time, I do believe he has the tools to win, and fighting Tua might be a worthwhile risk. Say, if Adamek beats a James Toney and Tua beats and Arreola.

    The fight COULD make sense for both.
