Round 2 Berridge is just churning out the 1-2 as the taller Gilbert comes in with hammerfists (yeah, this is a boxing match, not MMA...). Gilbert does not connect except for when he lunges and collapses on Berridge, when both men get hit (but nothing clean). Berridge 20-18 as the punches he's thrown so far are slightly less ******ed.
Now's not exactly a standard time to be watching live fights on the East Coast. I'm liking your dedication as a Tua fan. Thanks for this; I'll be following.
Round 3 Berridge drops Gilbert with a hook coming in early on. Gilbert beats the count and Berridge does his best Tua impression, jumping on Gilbert with a two-fisted side-to-side assault. Gilbert is dropped again mainly by the thudding force of the primarily blocked blows on his arms. He again beats the count but is subjected to yet another unanswered flurry at which point it is called off.
Are you planning on being up for a while? Tua's up sixth, and the first scheduled bout just ended. :yep
So he'll be up in a little over 2+ hours maybe? Yeah, I'm in the mood to see a tuaman knockout tonight.
Before 5 EST would be my guess - the remaining lead-ins include an 8-rounder, a 6-rounder, a 4-rounder and a girls' 4-rounder (two minute rounds).
Clarence Tillman vs. Ponytail guy, heavyweights Round 1 Ponytail circles apprehensively and flicks out (but doesn't really "throw") his jab hand - there is a huge height difference. Tillman, for his part, does actually throw a legitimate jab but it is very slow and not terribly straight - he lifts his elbow and telegraphs every one. Still, it's enough to discourage Ponytail from approaching. Ponytail jumps in at the ten second warning mark and gets dropped by a clubbing right hand but beats the count before the bell.
Ponytail guy's real name is Leamy Taito. Round 2 More elbow-jerking signaling the steady stream of jabs from Tillman. Taito is shuffling toward him carefully with little baby stuttersteps, then ducking down and mostly backing straight out, but sometimes flicking a jab of his own. Tillman begins to open up toward the end of the round and slams Taito into a corner, but Taito is able to get a guard up and avoid damage. 20-17 Tillman
Round 3 Tillman's jab starting to brush the forehead of Taito, as he's no longer waiting for Taito to eke his way in, and is meeting him halfway center ring. Taito has his hands up and is shuffling around swatting out with his jab hand from well out of range. Taito tries to rush into the chest of Tillman and throw some overhead bombs, but Tillman pushes him off with the right forearm and then re-extends it as a punch. This leads to an ugly exchange where Tillman appears to muscle Taito around. Taito leaps in with a hookercut to the chin that barely misses and they clinch on the ropes. Taito catches Tillman flush on the jaw right before the bell with a pair of windmill punches. Taito round. 29-27 Tillman
