Round 4 Tillman is timing Taito and snapping his head back with a jab, and tries to follow up with a big right hand but can't quite get it down level with Taito's head as he can with the jab. They clinch and the top of Taito's head is barely above Tillman's nipples. This is a very odd physical mismatch. After being broken up, it takes them only fifteen seconds to clinch again but this time both men work inside of it, Tillman punching the upper body of Taito (which is what's in easy reach for him) and Taito punching just over the belt of Tillman (which is what's in easy reach for him). Taito gets a little braver and opens up an exchange with some more windmills, and Tillman tries to counter with an uppercut and a right hand. Neither man lands much of note. Close round, but Tillman's. 39-36
Tillman wins an SD but the ring announcer is a stooge (he literally just said "We have a split decision...from the BLUE CORNER!" :verysad) Colonel Bob Sheridan is audibly disturbed. "Uh...scores? :blood" Tillman has now evened up his pro record to 4-4-1, and evened down Taito's to 1-1.
I might be made to look a bit dumb tonight but i actually think Friday can go the distance.... ive heard Tua hasnt looked all too great and that Friday was highly motivated for this, we will see. Hope it starts soon as i was planning on going to bed lol. I actually hope Tua devistates him though so we can move on to some bigger and better things in impressive fashion! Go Tua!
GIRLFIGHT! Christina Tai vs. Bronwyn Wylie, lightweights, rematch Black is coming forward like a tank putting her entire fifty pound frame into drill-like right hands - a small, wispy, white, female Tyson. Red is running around with a busy amateur style but not very effective in keeping black off of her. Two minute rounds. There's barely time to type! 10-9 Black
Round 2 Black shirt sticks to the jab, right hand, rinse, repeat formula. Red top continues to backpedal and throw quick bursts of Sven Ottke-like point-scoring punches. Black shirt aggressive but not effective. Not a whole lot to split in 120 seconds. I'll say even after two.
Round 3 Christina Tai in the black with the small boobs, and Bronwyn Wylie in the red (also small boobs). My earlier Tyson comparison for Tai actually isn't too far off - she's cutting the ring with a confident step, with her hands up and her chin tucked, throwing jabs and very hard right hands, and bobbing her head side to side. Wylie is able to slap out enough punches at a time to keep Tai from boring all the way in on her as she's a good bit taller. Her chin is hanging right there in case Tai does manage to get through, so she'll have to make an adjustment sooner or later... Tai 29-28
Round 4 Wylie comes out fast, bringing the fight to Tai with sweeping shots that mostly wrap around and behind her head. Tai puts her head down and pumps straight punches down the pipe. They clinch and Wylie brings an uppercut under Tai's chin. Both swing wildly and their upper arms tangle at the neckline. Tai 3 rounds to 4 per the straight right hand, which regularly landed cleaner than any of Wylie's pitty-pat offense (Compubox might favor Wylie).
Son of a *****! God damn ring announcer just did it again! "Ladies and gentlemen...we have a split decision winner! ...out of the BLUE CORNER!" Are they not handing him the scorecards or something, just the result? :huh Wylie won, now 2-0 (her debut was a MD over Tai).
OK, last warm-up act before Tua-Ahunanya now. It's a heavyweight 8-rounder between 13-6-2 (7) Brett Smith and 19-3 (11) Israel Carlos Garcia Garcia is Tua's primary sparring partner.
