Really surprised Tua took this fight. It seems over the past few years anytime a good opponent was mentioned he wouldn't take the fight or say he needed a tune up. Either way...good for Tua for stepping up against a young hungry guy. Great test for Arreola.
Tua said when he started his comeback that he wanted 7 fights before he stepped up, in order to do this right. It's been 7 fights, and he's stepping up. By right, he means learning how to box, getting in shape, and not depending on ko'ing guys with his left hook only.
Tua never shined except his KO against Ruiz. He couldn't do a thing to Lewis. Tua is old now so I'm not sure how a good a test it will be.
Arreola has shown a good chin. I think he should box Tua, but it's a dangerous fight for anyone. Tua could get lucky. I think Arreola will pull this fight out though.
Old at 35? What he's been is inactive. Tua shined against Maskaev, Ruiz, Moorer, Oquendo, Ruiz. He's only lost 3X. LL, Byrd were belt holders. Ike was, well Ike.
You're right Diehard. Tua is not old at 35. Thinking optimistically - he has preserved himself well for this time - having fought no harsh slugfests really for 5 years. Yes - he has preserved himself and now it is time to unleash We live in hope and expectation
Yes, once Tua unleashes a shot that nails Arreola's chin with the force of Thor's mighty hammer coming down upon and splitting the earth, he'll crumble like a sack of potatoes......... Tua by brutal and dramatic KO.:good
I'll believe it when I see it. Tua's been mentioned in so many fights that didn't pan out over the past 6-7 years it's crazy.
Arreola mentioned both Tua and Barrett as possible opponents. Who knows how far this fight is from actually being made.
Tua lands that Satan-Strong Left Hook in the right spot...well, you all know what happens then. He's gonna have to though. This is gonna be a true cardio exam for the bigboy.
