Tua vs Barrett III, March 31st

Yes, Barrett still has too much left for Tua.

Barrett by TKO, if it happens.

But that said, they sure are milking this C level matchup for all they can squeeze out of it. I guess I would too, if I were in the position of these tow guys, where there is not much left avaiable as for interest drawing fights, given their current stages of their careers, than to keep fighting each other.

 

These matchups between the older guys are entertaining. Would of loved to see Botha/ Grant.
All these guys should be fighting each other. Leave the young guns alone.
Holy, Tua, Grant, Botha, Rahman etc.

Have this fight next week so Tua can get back to retirement. He gave up on life back in 2003.

But I guess he will come out in the media saying how this time he is doing it for the right reasons, he's doing it for his family, he has the desire, it's destiny, he's in a good place in his life, he's going to hurt Barrett.................then get in the ring and look like a sack of ****.

 

I found the reaction, a bit comical when Tua stopped Cameron, a couple of years back a on this forum. But till this day, i'm still baffled on why Tua is struggling to stop the weak chinned Barret over 20 rounds.

maybe as a fan i'm disappointed in david tuas last decade...maybe i woudnt care if Tua came in to his last fight in SHAPE and it turned out like it did....but he came in fat and he got owned....and whats the point of finally (maybe) beating a 40 year old guy who has 1 win in his last 6 fights and the 1 win came against him. maybe youre happy to see this ...i cant too excited for it

 

I honestly believe that he wants to give it up but his finances are such a mess that he has to keep fighting. He was never a big fan of training and he'll never be competitive at the elite level weighing more than 250. I hope he surprises me and shows up at 230 but I'm not holding my breath.

With all that said, if he can somehow get some of his magic back and starch this guy...opportunities will open up for him.

 

He's been coming in overweight which makes him far too sluggish to set up those bombs he used to hurl at people in his prime. Not to mention that he really wasn't all that active in his prime so this version literally throws a handful of punches per round with zero energy. Conditioning is the key. Is he willing to finally commit to making this phase of his career a success or is he still just collecting checks?
