Actually what impressed me more than his suit was how articulate he is. I'm not sure I've ever heard him interviewed and always assumed he was just some grunting savage. :yep God that sounds racist when I say it out loud...he's also very neat and clean.

:lol: I thought the same thing before I saw this. I had never heard a Tua interview before either. And I agree, I dig the suit.

I'm a little disappointed. I always pictured David's typical weekend as clubbing some leggy stripper (with considerable height and reach advantages) over the head in a dark alley with a pipe and carrying her back to his cave for some ooka-wooka before kicking her (literally) to the curb with busfare and a belly full of troll-haired baby.

:rofl You have a ****ed up sense of humor, but that is sort of the way I saw things when I first saw Tua, which was relatively early in my boxing fan life.

:rofl My dad and I were commenting on that the other night. He said that he is trying to keep the hype going and he is pumped. Time will tell.

Got my ticket to this fight! It's a grudge match. Cameron has been calling out Tua in NZ for several years. Tua finally said, "be careful what you wish for." Mr Higgins, the promoter, came up with the money for both fighters (half a mil each), and Cameron and his team tried to worm out of it. Tua backed Team Cameron into a corner, and they finally signed. Tua is angry, as you can see in the interview. He's been training hard for the last 3-4 months, and is probably down below 250 now. He's taking a month off to retain his improvements (the fight is 14 weeks away), and his trainer and some top sparring partners are coming out to NZ to finish his training.

This fight will be alot like Tua vs Montana. Cameron really brings it. Likes to go toe to toe, and has little boxing ability to do otherwise. We'll see how much power Cameron has, and how much, if any, power, speed, and conditioning Tua has lost.

Tua promised to be in the best shape of his life. Don't know about that, but he'll come in around 235 for this fight. There's talk that his management is already lining up another fight for him.

Is this even going to come close to living up to the hype? Cameron's not some world beater diamond in the rough is he? I'm pretty sure he'd be getting some heat outside Oceania if he were. Based on what little I know of him (basically the Friday fight and some hearsay) he doesn't seem to be much more of a threat than any of the young crop of crappy American heavyweight hopefuls. If Tua has anything left, this should end fast - like Cerrone Fox fast, right?

Normally Tua should win but he's almost 37 and he's fought everybody,I mean everybody on the block, you name'em the samoan tank fought'em.

Cameron might pose a thread considering the layoff too.

But then again the best fighter Cameron has faced(Ahuhanya) stopped him.

It would be a shame if Cameron was launched into contention (further cluttering the title picture and wasting a date for one of the Klits) because of Tua losing (as opposed to Cameron winning) due to his age. :verysad

On the other hand, Tua lining up a long-deserved (emeritus) next crack would be the feel good story of the decade.

    Depends.

It's just june and I'm I could say mega hyped for this fight which is basically a domestic level fight.

Hope the Tuaminator wins by vicious left hook.

Watched his fight with Ed Gutierrez from 2006 today and he looked so slow and letargic.Knocked him down with a left hook to the head and out with one to the body.

Like Lennox said, you can't win the championship with a left hook and a hair cut.

Yeah, I guess it's a question of how much you take him at his word that he's been in the gym keeping himself ready to go. Everytime he started to mount a comeback it seemed to take him a while to get back into his stride but once he became active the 1st and 2nd round KOs started to pile up (granted, against tomato cans, but still...doing what he was supposed to do). The last two fights were cause for optimism - if he can hit the ground running and get back in the ring still that hot.

I certainly do hope that's all true. If Tua gets caught in the right situation (The WBA says sup), he could potentially find himself on the door step to another opportunity. THEN AGAIN TUA DID turn down a fight with Arreola a while back so it's hard to accurately project what the Tua Man has in mind.

And yes, Earthworm Jim is bad ass.
