everyone makes fun of ruiz getting tooled by tua. it is interesting that ruiz won so much more titles and stuff then tua had... there are reasons for this is ofcourse...connections etc etc but if they fought today who would u pick and why
This is what would happened ... the fight will be announced as in the works ... a one or two month saga will follow related to negotiations ... people will speculate about who will win on this board ... the negotiations will fall thru because of some lame reason ... something will come out about Tua looking for a new opponent and his new comeback plans ... nothing will happen ... end of story.
its reaching a point where its more likely that vitali will show up on fight night next month than tua getting anything done any time soon. riddick bowe's comeback got nothing on tua's. five ****ing years ffs.
The only reason Ruiz "won" any titles was because his connection with King allowed him to CHEAT by holding excessively, and when that didn't work, faking low blows. Tua blows the glorified clubfighter out now, just like he did 12 years ago.:yep
Thats stetching it Zak. Why on earth would King push for Ruiz to win over all the other more marketable fighters in his stable he matched him against? John Ruiz is the definition of an average fighter achieving above average results.
I hate Ruiz but at least he manages to get in the ring & has probably done alright for himself financially. Tua is probably about broke. So in a way I guess Jawney has had the last laugh.
If they fought today....Ruiz would probably **** himself during Tuas ringwalk...soon after he'd get KTFO again..only this time maybe 30 seconds later
It's impossible to say, nobody's seen Tua for a long time so there's no form by which to make a comparison. I would say the Tua who drew with Rahman would knock Ruiz out. His jab and fall in, occasional hard right style just doesn't stack up well against an iron chinned puncher. He's certainly not going to outbox him on the back foot like Lewis did or even like Oquendo did until he was caught, Ruiz is too slow and one dimensional. He'd last longer than in their actual fight though, since then Ruiz made adjustments and found way to beat better boxers than himself, Tua got fat and slow and immobile.
They could fight 20 more bouts and not one of them would yeild the same 1st-round fluke KO. Ruiz never before and hasn't since shown anything slighlty resembling a questionable chin. In fact, he has proven to be one of the most stubborn HW fighters in the last decade. He takes big shots all the time and never goes down. He was caught off gaurd, wasn't expecting the pressure so early. He;s yet to make the same mistake. Ruiz by UD.
Like Death and Taxes, you can always count on Zakman making his strong opinions on Ruiz known at every opportunity. :yep
Same as before, but Ruiz holds Tua and drags him to the floor. Tua will be too lazy to get up and they both get counted out.
