Measuring both at their absolute peaks, Tyson wins a decision. It's amazing that a lot of people discount Tyson's boxing ability, which was phenomenal. Tua has been outboxed by a who's who of fighters that weren't as good as Tyson and just ended up hitting home runs to win. Tua's winging shots aren't just gonna clip and destroy the absolute prime version of Tyson. Even older, post prime Tyson, when he got stopped, he was beaten on in a sustained attack for the entire fight.

    Tough call.

Out of curiosity... how would Tua have done against Tysons opposition? And hiw would Tyson have done against Tuas?

    Interesting fighters to compare.

Idk part of me thinks its a bad matchup for Tyson...

Contrary to popular belief, both these guys could punch.

Tyson was a far better boxer. Tua only has a punchers chance.

Good fight! Mike Tyson is too skilled, fast and athletic for David Tua who has no advantage other than perhaps stamina and heart over Mike. Mike has Tua beat in pretty much every other relevant department.

I expect a decision win for Mike!

Im not a hugely knowledgeable boxing fan,but Mike Tyson of 85-88 is the greatest heavyweight I have seen. That version beats everyone in history. Now put a 96-97 Tua in against a 96-97 Tyson and its a different story. This is coming from a New Zealander as well.
