Given that Tua has become an active heavyweight again, has improved his conditioning, and has been ranked #13 by the WBC, it seems that a showdown with Samuel Peter is inevitable.

Personally, I think it would be a great match-up, perhaps one of the best that can be made at heavyweight right now.

Who do you guys think would win?

Now? Peter wins almost every round. Tua might shake him like Wlad did, but even that's doubtful with his abysmal level of activity. Peter by wide UD

  You guys are misled by Tua's recent opposition.

Peter, as highly ranked as he is now, is tailor-made for Tua. The difference is that Tua hits harder, higher workrate and has better chin.

Tua KOs Peter, I hope this fight happens very soon.

He doesn't have a higher workrate then Peter... I'd agree with the chin and power though...

I wouldn't go as far to say that it would be a mistake to trade with Tua. Hasim Rahman knocked down Tua, remember? I'd say Peter has heavier hands than Rahman.

The fact Tua went down against Rahman had more to do with Tua swinging wildly at the bell and being totally off balance.**** Paulie Malignaggi would've had Tua down in that situation.

I dont think Tua will weigh much less than he did today in the future, he shurely wont come in under 230. I say 235 is a good weight for him now.

Even if assuming (for sake of discussion) that it was a legit KD (which it is not), it is very debatable that Peter hits harder than Rahman.

Peter is overrated really. He is the HW Lacy. I thought the loss to Wlad and Toney (yes he lost the 1st fight) made people see the B- fighter he is.

And Maskaev beats Peter, you'll see.

I think this would be a good competitive fight. For me it would be determined by who had the higher workrate, which belongs to Peter. Not that Peter has an excellent jab but it is capable of giving Tua problems. Tua would be able to get in and would be able to land and despite his power, Peter has a solid chin. He took what Wlad through at him - even a solid left in the last round when he was exhausted. Peter would win a UD against Tua but would be made to work hard for it. His chin will be tested again and I think Tua would put up a brave but losing effort.

    That's a bit nonsensical.

Rahman knocked Tua down whilst Tua was loading up at the end of the round. He was off balance and for a guy his size he did well trying to stay on his feet. I'm not necessarily questioning the legitimacy of the knockdown but your assertion is wrong. It's not as if Rahman landed flush ala Lewis now was it? Was Tua even hurt? Did he get straight back up?
