Peter gets too much credit for his chin (which seems pretty good, but no cast iron like many claim) based on his fight with Wlad. I can't think of any point in that fight where Wlad unloaded on Peter, Wlad seemed more focused on protecting himself and out boxing Peter to a safe UD.
I disagree. He took flush, meaty shot from arguably the heaviest hitter in the division today. He only looked in trouble toward the end of the fight where he was gassed. Wlad was never going to steam into Peter, who was noted as having a dig and a solid albeit untested chin. No way was Klitschko going to mix it or go toe to toe with Peter or he would have ended up on his back. Peter has not been knocked out, stopped, or even off his feet in any of his fights - not just his fight with Klitschko. That's good enough proof for me that he has a solid chin.
Peter UD. Both guys can crack and both can take it but i think Peter is more skilled and is taller and has a longer reach. Tua maybe would land some bombs on Peter but Peter is a hard nut to crack.
Perhaps. Or perhaps you are being too harsh on a man who has shown no real sign of a weak chin and who has stayed upright against perhaps the biggest puncher and best heavyweight today. I am not overrating his chin, but many a fighter has crumbled under Klitschko and to simply undervalue the power shots that were landed and spin some contorted summary that Wlad was in survival mode from the get go is undeserved and does Peter a disservice. I have never proposed that Peter is un-knockoutable, but more that he has a solid chin. I also think that if Klitschko is unable to take Peter off his feet, let alone stop him then I dont see Tua doing it either - despite his obvious power.
Tua will have to have an impressive win first, but there's plenty of time for that whilst Peter fights Maskaev and then possibly Klitschko, if he wins, and maybe McCall. Then I can see the fight being made, but Peter should take it at this stage, on work-rate.
I think Tua would KO Peter. As limited as Tua may be (at least in terms of reach/stature), he's nowhere near as limited as Peter is, IMO. I would love to see this fight, or Peter-Brewster if LB still wants to keep fighting.
Tua would knock Scam Cheater the **** out. Scam couldn't knock Peter out with his usual behind the head cheating tactics. He would stand right in front of Tua and let Tua hit him, then nighty night Scam Cheater.
Outstanding. I wish I had thought of that name. *applause* - - - - - - It's amazing how much 'love' Peter gets from certain segments, either those, IMO, who don't like white HW champions (oh, and BTW, I'm Latino so I don't have any particular affinity for a white champ), or those who just hate the Klitschkos and see Peter as their best hope. Peter is an incredibly limited fighter. I like him as a person, but his discipline is awful and his skill level is about as bad. He hits hard (although I'm not sure exactly how hard) and has a good chin and good heart (well, at least he did before he lost his first fight; many undefeated fighters have a good heart; the real test comes after they learn they can lose). But what do we really know about the guy? That he can lose 10 of 12 rounds to Wlad K.? That he couldn't take out a fat middleweight, or even actually defeat him in their first bout? That he pretty much never comes into a fight in peak condition? IMO, there's still a lot of questions to be answered by Peter. He does have natural talent, but I'm not sure about much else. We'll find out, starting with the fight against Maskaev.
