Guess I shoulda read the OP before voting. Prime Tua likely wins a decision over Peter, but today, Peter stops the fat man.:deal Be a good comeback fight for the Nigerian Nightmare......I'm thinking his team oughta quit throwing him to these young hungry euro fighters for short money and start rebuilding him so he's still relevant in 5 yrs. Tua, Grant, Gomez, McBride, and Feilds should all be on his radar IMO.:deal
Tua took no risks as he couldn't get past Lewis' jab. With Wlad it would be no different, only Wlad has a superior jab that has power. Lewis was content to play it safety first against a plodder like Tua. Wlad became a safety fighter, but when someone eats his jab consistently he unleashes full force right hands repeatedly; something Lewis didn't do against Tua. When undefeated, Peter could take a LOT of punishment. I just don't see Tua knocking him out.
Tua blasts him out. A come forward, limited defence brawler like Peter would be literally made for him.
But he also took a number of hard shots in the beginning. Then Lewis played it safe, because he saw he probably wouldnt get Tua out. Yes, Peter could take punishment. Tua still does him I think. But hey, we never know in prime for prime Right now could be interesting though. I think Peter wins that one. About Wlad, he usually does make people eat it for a long time, yes, and I would like to see him go for early knockouts, but I understand why he dont do so.
Tua certainly has the better boxing fundamentals. He's physically more limited than Peter though. I think this is a classic 50/50 matchup. Two tough sluggers battling it out toe-to-toe.
Two limited guys. One with decent skill, good technique, and a cast-iron chin. The other with terrible skill, atrocious technique, and a solid chin. I'll take the former in about 6 or 7 rounds. Tua takes it no question.
100 percent right on that, Tua was a powerful a puncher has any HW in the last 30 years and he stops Peter before 5
Tua by knocking surprisingly easily. Peter didn't have the defense nor the correct punching technique for that matter to trade with Tua. Tua by 4th or 5th round KO.
Peter showed some decent technique against Toney the 2nd time out. He'd be in a situation where he could out range his opponent again. I think UD for Peter in a fight that is surprisingly tactical with Peter staying outside Tua most the time and when inside he'd lean on him and do a lot of wrestling, wearing out Tua inside. He may get hit with a few big shots from Tua, but I think he'd take it fine with his chin.
Would be a good tear-up. Reckon Peter has more chance of stopping Tua, as silly as it sounds. Otherwise Tua relatively close UD.
I'd favor Tua by UD but I'm completely underwhelmed by him compared to most here who seem so, so desperate to overrate the guy. Peter could take a decision.
