Who do you think would take this at the current time? Both have made a considerable effort to slim down recently and both are coming of impressive second round wins (granted the opposition wasen't top class but still they were not expected to look as good). Would you think Tua's aggressive style would win or Toney's aggressive slickness? Also how do you think Toney would deal with the power, this is a man who has only been on the floor 3 times (flash knockdowns) in around 70 fights in 5 divisons. I think this fight would make sense as both are at a crossroads in there career and a fight like this would give us a better picture of were they stand in the rankings.

I think Toney is too old and too slow to stand right in front of David Tua and handle the power.

Yes. Samuel Peter has never really shown devastating power against good opposition.

David Tua has KOed a lot of world-class fighters more brutally than anyone else on their records has, and often with one or two shots rather than by accumulation. Plus he has a lot of late-round KOs, he keeps his power till the end of a fight. He has lit up quite a few guys in the last three rounds while behind on points.

which world class fighters has tua KOd.

He got schooled by the best fighters- lennox and byrd
and didnt do much against the decent fighter in rahman.

i dont see too much difference between them

Stylistically this is a very very bad fight Toney. Toney will not be able to hurt Tua. Toney though is one of the best in fighters in the sport but he has lost a step. Now im not taking into consideration Tua's win over Cameron as for all intents and purposes on the world scene it means nothing. I just want to see Tua back in action get this litigation crap put of the way and simply fight instead of all this start stop nonsense.

Now that aside Tua presents Toney with alot of problems. He's small compact cant be hurt and has TNT in either fist. The old Tua who used to come in at 220-225 used to throw tons of punches per fight. As he got older he fell in love with his power and got more and more out of shape to the point that he was comprehensively outboxed by Chris Byrd.

An on game Tua can stay in the pocket with Toney ( and we know what Tua's like in the pocket because Toney wont take a step back. Remember Young Ibeabuchi? And John Ruiz? ). He's GREAT at completely destroying static targets. Toney these days is a sitting duck. He can get away with juking and fainting vs guys like Sam Peter but Tua is a different kettle of fish. Tua has decent handspeed and has always been able to put devasting punches together very well. Id go for Tua by mid round stoppage in Toneys first loss by TKO.

Tua is a thousand times the puncher that Peter is. Everything about Peter is a joke. He's vaunted power is farcical. He can look great throwing haymakers vs the Jeremy Williams of this world but you name me one time Peter has ever put together a combination and looked world class. That man doesnt even know how to throw a straight right.

the 3 kd that peters did on wlad turned out to be a better accomplishment than tua did in his career.

tua can be outboxed easily this has been proven time after time- toney will easily outbox him, if he can last. Toney is not easy to KO, i think he has proven that.
    Im going with toney.

The more i think about it, if weak ass bryd could stay away from tua, toney definately can.

The people who will beat toney easily are: Wlad, Haye, Vitali- tall people who wont let toney get inside on.

for those who will let toney get inside on, i will favour him.

i was talking about showing power against top opposition.

The most comparable fight to peter-wlad was tua-lennox.

im saying at least peter showed something.
