I think they may make it 5 or 6 rounds right now prime for prime I think Tyson takes but not as easily as many think:deal I think we would have to rate Tuas chin slightly better than Tysons
Tua is still active while Tyson is out of shape . . . physically and mentally . . . so Tua beats Tyson now hands down. Prime for prime . . . Tyson sends Tua to dreamland.
Tua...much slower than Tyson. On that score not even close. Tua was a left hooker...dont think he had much else. Tyson had an arsenal!! Prime at least it would be easily Tyson and would be quite brutal and I doubt it would last long as they'd be both in each others face - neither are backward fighters. Now? Tyson is old and shot...Tua is rusty and slow. Probs go for Tua now, but still dunno - Tyson probs can do good for 3 rounds if he was up for it and so would still have a good shot at overwelming Tua with his speed and aresnal.
..oh and the Tua v Lewis mismatch - I think it was more Lewis's being cautious and too respectful of Tua's power and so played safe. But even then it was a total shutout. If Lewis would have been braver and opened up on Tua as some fighters may have done when they had their man under such control I think Tua may have been down and maybe out...say with an onslaught like Golota received. Tua in the amateurs was knocked cold by a fighter.
It's interesting: people always talk about how you needed to be tall to beat Tyson, but Buster Mathis Jnr. caused him a lot of problems by forcing him to punch down. Tua has an edge in shortness against Tyson, was the more adept infighter (even in his prime Tyson needed space) and wasn't easy to uppercut. I think Tyson would win a decision in an ugly but entertaining scrap, fought mostly on the inside. Tyson's superior technique, jab and faster hands would win it for him, but Tua would give him a world of trouble. One thing to note is that neither man really knew how to clinch properly, so by the end of the fight they'd be nearly knocking themselves out with their punches.
In their prime - Iron Mike no doubt!! Genuinely think in his prime, ANY heavyweight would have struggled to cope with Tyson. Now - Tua
Tyson would undoubtedly take it in his prime. Perhaps a decision, but I can not rule out the stoppage even with Tua's freakish chin. Now, probably Tua although its more or less a guess. I'm thinking he still has power, and Tyson just does not have the mental strength to cope with taking punches anymore.
