Tyson would resort to the silent agreement like he did in the Smith fight once he felt the power and strength of Tua, coming at Tua head on would be suicide for the smaller, weaker Tyson.
Wass...but Tyson beat Smith, who was most certainly not a weak man himself...immensely strong I would say. I also don't think Tyson would come in head on as you say...I'm not a particular fan of Tyson per se, but prime Tyson didn't come in head on, his footwork, movement, rolling, slipping and angles showed much more versatility than Tua. I think the silent agreement is more likely to come from Tua than Tyson.
Yeah he beat a fighter who would sooner hug than exchange, Tua wouldn't be so compliant and would out bomb Tyson, this could possibly be the only time Tyson was put to sleep.
^^^Tua's not bombing anyone out in this match-up. Is this the same Tua that look discouraged and was hurt by Chris Byrd? The same Tua that went life and death to win a Split decision over Cisse Salif? The same Tua that was a punching bag for Maskaev, Oquendo and Rahman until he landed the left hook (in Rahman's case after the bell)? Idiots have this theory that Tyson will fold as soon as he tasted power but that wasn't always the case, Tyson took bombs and went forward against the likes of Ruddock and Bruno in his prime.
This is a very interesting stylistic match up. Tua is a interesting fighter when it comes to rating his ability. His prime was from 96 to 98, at this time he looked like a very devastating fighter who'd be a threat for almost anyone especially those who wouldn't be able to use there range against him. I think if you put a prime Tyson in with a prime Tua, Tyson would take it. I think in his prime Tyson would be able to battle Tua on the inside and get much the better of it. I think it is very possible a prime Tyson would starch a prime Tua in the early rounds, the opposite is of course possible as well but I'd favor the more skilled puncher in Tyson to score the early round knock out even though Tua was the more durable of the two. I also think a prime Tyson would've been able to keep up with a prime Tua through 12 rounds. Now if you take any other version of Tyson other then when he was on top of his game for example I think if Tyson met a prime Tua at the stage in his career when he fought Razor Ruddock I'd give Tua a much better chance. I'd favor Tua against Tyson of 1996-1997 which would've been probably the time they were most likely to meet. If they had met in the early 2000's I think a declining Tua would be able to knockout a washed up unfocused Tyson of that time. These two have a lot of similarities especially in how they declined both of them at one point in their careers showed a lot of skills while on the attack but later on they began to just head hunt which led to them no longer being elite in the heavyweight division.
David Tua isn't Evander Hlyfied. So basically Tua was fatter than Tyson? He certainly wasn't stronger
Bonecrusher, Ruddock, Bruno could all crack. Flip the question, what punchers did Tua face? Lewis who took it easy and.......
Tua is an overrated bum. his best wins are John Ruiz and a past his best win over glass chinned Moorer. Mcall knocked Maskaev out in one round, Tua took about 10 i think. Oh and knocked out Izon and Oquendo. Tyson would certainly be ****ting bricks
People seem to.forget that Tyson outboxed boxers, outjabbed Lewis on occasion and has one of, if not the best defences at heavyweight when he was at his best. Tua has no defence. hes going to be eating a ton of leather and do believe he will get stopped
Tua was fatter, that's right. I wouldn't say he wasn't stronger though. Tua may have been stronger. He had the body of a powerlifter. Of course, that doesn't help him win boxing matches.
You live in cloud cuckoo land if you thought Tyson did well at all against Lewis, it was like a cat playing with a mouse for ****s sake. You really are in a Tyson fantasy land!
