Wilder only has power on his shots when he can get full-extension or close to full-extension on his shots, meaning he needs room to generate that power. Guys like Tua nd Tyson wouldn't just be a nightmare for Wilder, they might just be judge/jury/executioner to him.

If Wilder tries to emulate the first Stiverne fight he wins on points. If he just tries to slap Tua up he goes to sleep.

Against a lazier version of Tua I agree it's possible. But even then it's hard to shake off the image of a late Tua rally where Wilder is finished off. What some people have said about Wilders opponents when they fight him applies here. Wilder has to be perfect for 12 rounds. 1 mistake and it's probably over.

Tua, too technically sound, the more dependable guy, better chin, skillset etc

    Simple breakdown.

    Tua if:

    • They narrow to even medium-close distance. Basically, within Tua's up-on-tippy-toes head-hooking range.
    • Wilder is greedy and elects to fire in combination, hoping to finish Tua off, leaving himself open to getting clipped and dropped/stopped.

    Wilder if:

    • He can hold Tua on the outside and work him over with long jabs & rights, maintaining discipline for a full twelve.
    • His gas tank doesn't betray him and leave him puffing on the ropes under pressure.

Unknowable. Wilder could partially block a hook in the first, and upon feeling it turn into a total ***** and run for the next 11, and pot shot his way to a lopsided UD.

Or he could, in that same timeline, start to get arrogant circa round 9, move in with a big telegraphed 1-2, and get put to sleep.

It all rests on Wilder, really, and which of his flaws come to fore on a given night (cowardice or stupidity).

If he connects flush on the button, Tua wins. Period.

If Wilder does like he done in Stiverne 1, I can see him getting a UD over Tua, especially if it's the Tua that showed up against Lewis. But if Wilder tries to have a fire fight, I see Tua KOing him. His chin will take him a long way in this fight, and I don't think that Wilder has the defense to avoiding the leaping shots

Lennox Lewis is able to outbox Tua cuz he got ATG level skills, Wilder on the other hand.........

A fully motivated, in shape, absolute peak Tua catches Wilder at some point around the mid way mark and doesn't let him off the hook.

The only comparison I can see between Stiverne and Tua are body shape. Tua hits way harder, is a lethal finisher, has an uncrackable chin, and when in shape has a much better gas tank. A prime Tua would be Wilders SECOND best opponent and would crush Ortizn't.

Can anyone genuinely see Wilder, Ortizn't or Stiverne hanging with the Tua of the Ibeabuchi fight?
