I mostly want to talk about Tua's return and what you all thought about that. What did you think about his performance in general? How did it compare to what would be seen as his better years? Has he declined or did he look as good as he ever did in this short viewing? How do you think he fits into the current heavyweight landscape? Outside of the Klitschko's, who do you think he can beat and who can't he beat? As regards to the Klitschko's, I'm sure nearly all will favour the Klits (please speak up if you disagree! ) but which one would he have more of a chance against and what % chance would you give Tua? I also want this to remain in the Brit forum, so tell me in detail about David Haye vs. David Tua. This content is protected http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZLnkcR7N_M&feature=player_embedded
For starters I dont think Cameron was any good anyway. Tua would surely land on Haye over 12 rounds, if so its got to be curtains for haye. Added to that Tua has a good chin, which should be able to take everything Haye has to give.
I thought he looked very good under the circumstances, long layoff and average opponent. I think he can get himself back into a (losing) title shot with one of the Klitschos, given the quality of last nights opponent Tua didn't look to have declined too much from his prime. Hard to tell though in 1 and a bit rounds of action.
Granted. I was bemused myself by the buildup in the NZ press. It never seemed a contest to me. But forgetting Cameron's inept display, from the things you can immediately identify did you notice that Tua had lost anything or is he the exact same fighter of yesteryear?
These domestic rivalries have a way of exciting people and making them lose perspective that doesn't affect us outsiders.
True, I agree he looked very good. Probably deceiving in the same respect as Trinidad vs Mayorga or Tszyu vs Mitchell. Although Tua looked immense, I think he'd really struggle with the overgrown Ukranians beasts.
I thought Tua was moving well but I dont think the fight went on long enough to really find anything in depth out about his current condition compared to his prime
I downloaded 900mb's and was expecting an epic hard fought battle due to the length of file. I was sorely disapointed when I had to skip through 20 minutes of ring entrances and announcements (from a rather novel announcer), and with only a third of the playback left for the fight including interviews it sort of gave the result away
Yeah, I saw that.....the one on WVBA was 300mb and that had all the intros and post fight interviews.
