[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOlkGxWyWIg[/ame] So tua was over 230+ in this fight, pretty much even for with Ike. But did Tua's wide physique allow him to go even that high for some only about 5'10? Tua had calf muscles to the max but what I'm getting at is, what do you think was his ideal weight?
i'm off the opinion that some heavyweights are better suited to having weight on them.....like arriello (spelling)..everyone complained about his weight and said he should lose some, but i think it would have made him less effective
Tua always had a bit of extra flab on him, but overall in his prime I don't think he'd have been much more effective with the weight loss. He was a short, stocky heavyweight built for power and strength.
Tua was a very big guy, he would probably be best with 220. Just like Tyson. Low height has advantages like a better stamina (blood has to be pumped less high) And there is more muscle per bone mass. And freaking explosive.
when he was a 220 pound wrecking ball , he shoulda stayed that way as well and he mightve managed to get a share of the world title , wen he went to like 240 245 whatever he was he was so slow it was unreal.
Well he was only just 19 when he won the bronze and then barely 20 when he turned pro so I guess it makes sense. The lightest I last saw him was the Cameron fight which I was impressed with his physique.
Tua is Samoan and people of Samoan decent have a similar build i've never seen a very skinny samoan and most seem to have huge calf muscles even if they dont do any exercise theyre just huge for no reason just walking around builds their legs, it's genetics his genetics aren't there for him to be an alexis arguello body type. He was born to be stocky and have a little extra weight here and there
