It's hard to tell who has the better team, but it doesn't take a genius to work out who has the better coaches. Rampage had control of who fights 1st and still managed to mess it up. atsch
Abe looked pathetic in that fight and he supposinly trains jue jitsu? Rampage cracks me up, when selecting their teams and there was just one fighter left, and it's his pick....."I think I'll take the cameraman" lol
Rashad has the better team. It's obvious. Rampage hasn't learned a damn thing from the first time he was on the show. He's still going for the guys who look like monsters, and leaving the gutsy, skilled fighters to the opposing coach. Rule #1 - If Rampage is involved, invariably you must choose the other side, unless it's Rampage himself doing the fighting. He's entertaining as hell, but he doesn't know what he's doing in this regard.
Rampage is not a very smart manager or coach, period. He's a guy who can do his own thing in the ring but doesn't know jack **** about applying his knowledge to others. He's too much of a natural fighter I'd say.
Yea Rampage and his team arn't all that great at picking teams. I think, unfortunately, Rashad has a way better team and I don't see anyone on Rampage's team get out of the 2nd round, and maybe 2-3 tops get out of the first. Rampage has always been hilarious, prolly my favorite personality in MMA.
I think he picks the guys that HE wouldn't wanna face. I'm sure he's not intimidated by Roy Nelson titis, but Wagner looks fit, athletic and huge. Realistically, who's the better fighter tho?
It does look that way, but a lot of the guys are unknown so its hard to says for sure. One of the few good things which Rampage did was getting the fighters to spar during the evaluation. Also he was funny. :yep
agreed.......Rampage is more concerned about entertaining then actual coaching. His advise for Abe was "get up" and "he's gonna do the same thing again". side note This Sat UFC 103, Spike will broadcast 2 free fights prior to the PPV. I believe it airs 9pm EST. Tomasz Drwal v Drew McFedries Efrain Escudero v Cole Miller
I mean, Rashad Evans has Greg Jackson as his "assistant coach". Greg Jackson is one of, if not the, best trainers in MMA right now. Team Rashad has an enormous advantage in having a guy like Jackson who is absolutely committed to working out gameplans and working towards fighters strengths.
About doing the same thing again though. It seemed like Abe had NO IDEA what a sprawl was and never even attempted to stop the takedown. It was upsetting to watch.
Abe is just a big dude and thats it. He didnt even seem much of a striker to me even though you only got to see 2 seconds worth of that. Very bad match up and the fight should have been stopped. Those guys are fighting for nothing to get cut like that and bleed like a stuck pig? He should have stuck to his job as CEO.
Lol, he was supposed to be good in BJJ. He didnt show nothing. And very bad takedown defense, like he never trained them
