BJJ my ass. Anyone can pull a rubber guard in training because they saw it on TV dont mean you're JJ's on lock. I mean BJJ involves a large element of grappling and looking for position to gain a submmision. This guy was like a complete beetle on his back. Did he even pull guard because i didnt see it.

I was thinking that Rampage would set Kimbo up with a nice match-up that would allow him to move on and be safe to train for the next round when Rampage might not be controlling the matchup.

A big muscular guy like Abe will never be good at jiujitsu. It's designed for smaller, flexible men. His size works to his disadvantage on the ground. Abe probably has a much stronger top game. No doubt he is used to putting the other guy on their back. Once he had to work his guard - it was obvious that he had nothing. He had no hip movement. Didn't try to create space to stand when he could. He literally did nothing.

I think that depends on his background rather than his size. Nog is the best BJJ heavy in the world. I seen that dude in the flesh and he's BIG!! At least 250-260 in between fights. Abe just didnt have any BJJ to speak of. As a mixed martial artist his skills were very basic. Even the guy he fought wasnt much to write home about.

Realistically abe should have done decent againt the other dude (forget his name). But it turned out he had no jiu jitsu, no sprawl attempts what so ever, his stand up wasn't even good. If he had a half decent sprawl, and could clinch people up using wizard guard on the ground he would of had a chance.

I think after getting spanked in the first round, and that massive cut opening up he just lost all self confidence.

According to Dana, the tuf 10 premier got 4.1m viewers on spike. If true that must easily be the highest rated tuf episode. I'm sure it gets around 1-2m? Maybe at times its been slightly more can't remember. Not surprising though, and we know who its mainly down too.

You're right - but Nog doesn't have that kind of bulk. He has flexibility where he needs it. Abe was just too damn big and not flexible at all and the guy he fought had no ground and pound ability. All he could do was "the same thing" which was shoot the double and then sit tight in the guard.

Rampage did pick Wes Sims. The dude gave frank mir a tough fight so who knows he might win it all.

BJJ is all about dexterity. Which means Rampage was talking air and Abe had no BJJ to speak. How can you be pretty good at BJJ and have no grappling skills to speak of? That sounds like some Ninjitsu Akido Steven Segal bull**** you see on telly. Felt bad for Abe though because that cut went down to the bone. It was a nasty nasty cut and theres no way the fight should have continued with an injury like that. I wouldnt be at all surprised if he fractured his skull.

More poor matchmaking by Rampage. He should have picked someone from his team who is good on the ground, like Demico (from what I read he has wrestling and BJJ) to fight McSweeney. You just knew they were gunna announce the Kimbo fight a week in advance. I can't see him winning, Big Country is the most accomplished, expereinced and probably the most talented guy on the whole show. If for some reason Kimbo does get the better of the stand up, Nelson can always take it to the ground and end it there. Even if Kimbo hangs with Nelson for a bit and makes a fight of it, I'll take my hat off to the guy. That is probably one of the advantages he has that he has nothing to lose and Nelson does. If he makes a fight of it, that will probably be the 'reason' the UFC will use for having him fight on the main card of TUF 10 Finale.
