Gozonga was robbed.. the first shot was on the side of his head, but the rest were all to the back. To make matters worse, jus head was pressed against Browne's thigh while being slammed.

 

For what they lack in technique and strength they sure make up for in fighting spirit!

It's always different with the girls. I just don't think they've had enough mainstream fights yet to really get a feel of the acceptable time of stoppage.

 

I think it was a bit early, personally. But I wouldn't be surprised if that's the standard from here on out.

 

What's the women-fighting culture like in Thailand, Boran? If any at all...

 

I think all those last knee strikes and elbows looked worse than they were. Don't think they had much on them, the girl didn't look stunned or groggy.

I wonder if it'd got stopped if the ref was a guy?

 

There are a couple of good young Thai chicks, but it's mostly foreign girls. Traditionally Thai women aren't actually allowed to touch or go anywhere near a ring, superstitious stuff. In Lumpinee and Raja they still have signs near the ring saying so. You are getting a few more Thai women starting at a young age but on the whole it's rare.

If you call it fighting Thai women are pretty good at Taekwondo, on occasion getting Olympic gold medals.

 

Well that ref (Kim Winslow) is actually known for LATE stoppages, ironically enough.

 

Yeah I reckoned something like this. So I was scared it was gonna be a completely stupid question to ask.
