In Nyambayar's last match he was dropped hard by Filipino prospect Harmonito Dela Torre, who isn't that heavy handed, which is a concern, was it just a flash KD or is he packing glass. He's taking on the very durable Oscar Escandon, who gave Gary Russell Jr. everything he could take for 4 or 5 rounds, even though the match was one sided in GRJ's favor from a scoring perspective, Oscar's non stop relentless pressure took some getting accustomed to for him. So will Tug be able to handle it? Or will the little miniscule battering ram get to that chin of his and test those potentially shaky whiskers of his, like he did to Cuellar and Castellanos. Who do you guys have?
That's a tough one to call, I lean Tug, but I'm not all that confident, I'm not sure he hits as hard as Russell, and he's not as fast either, and I'm not all that sure he can keep hi at bay with his jab, Escandon is excellent at getting on the inside.
Looks like Nyambayar has a huge size advantage here if the numbers are correct. We will see at the weigh in but if it's true it is a big advantage (5'8 vs 5'1). If he can control the distance he might win a decision comfortably, if he tries to brawl with Escandon it could end in a bad way. This is a huge step up for him here indeed. Escandon is a tough guy who loves to fight, i can remember him destroying Castellanos who destroyed Gamboa after that. Good fight.
A KD against De La Torre is no shame, because the guy is underrated. I think, Nyambayar will beat Escandon easy.
That doesn't necessarily mean much, Castellanos was quite a bit bigger than Escandon as well, almost everyone is.
No, there's no shame there, but the fact that he was clearly shook up by it, that should be a worry. He seemed to shake it off, but it wasn't the hardest shot that dropped him. The second round for those interested. That being said, I do think he'll handle Escandon fairly easily. This content is protected
