Oh there it go, there it go ! Every time I start talking about Boxing, a white man gotta pull that Jack Sharkey out they ass. That's day one, that's day one. Jack Sharkey, Jack Sharkey. Let me tell you something once and for all, Jack Sharkey was good, but compared to Harry Wills ? Jack Sharkey ain't **** !

Harry Wills lied about his age, he lied about his age all the time. One time Mikis Theodorakis comes in to my barbershop and sat down on his own VIP chair, and I say "Miki, you were old enough to hang out with Harry Wills, just between me and you, how old is Harry Wills ?" You know what Miki told me ? He goes "Hey, Harry wills' 137 years old"

    137 years old ?

And you think Mikis' word means anything?
Wills was only 37, like Usyk was against Tyson he was prime.
I asked my analyst friend, Sakis Rouvas, his opinion and he said Sharkey was beating Wills easy before the disqualification.
Who do you want to believe, Mikis or Sakis? I'll tell you what, one of them has benefited from modern diet and conditioning which has an immeasurable impact on the validity of their accounts, somehow.

Sakis just gets his information from Klompoton, whose full time job is being a hater. Maybe Mikis' word isn't all that credible either. But you know whose is ?

Eleni Vitali's. According to some of my sources, at one point she switched her last name with her first name, and pretended to be Ukrainian in order to appeal to the ESB crowd on general, that's how ahead of her time she was. She entered the ring with guys like Lennox Lewis in a fight that's still controversial to this day, and she told me a prime Harry Wills would have turned Sharkey into rug. Who're you gonna believe ? Konstantinos Argiros 1.0 or a Heavyweight champion of the world ?

haha the Gob could talk the smack.
It's really a shame that the two never met, on one hand you have Tunney with an impeccable all time record, but his resume is sparse in the heavyweight division. Depending on how you feel about Dempsey after a 3 year lay off, at the time Gene faced him, clouds how good Gene truly was at heavy. He did dominate a couple of B tier guys that usually did ok in the division in Risko, and knocking out quickly the durable Madden.
As for Sharkey he has a clear top 5 strength of schedule resume at heavy but with mixed results. Still aside from the post prime version against Joe Louis, He was competitive win or lose against some of the greatest names in the division. Dominating Wills, beating Godfrey, winning and losing with Schmeling, being ahead by most accounts until a controversial knockout loss with Dempsey. I believe both guys tend to be underrated today.
