Tunney beats Louis any day of the week

Not so sure. I wont count out a Tunney victory. But if Tunney is fighting Louis eveyday of the week, I think Louis gets to him in a few of there matchs.

 

I think you have a case there..Tunneys movement will give louis problems. Same thing why I pick Ali over Louis

Tunney is the most underrated of all heavyweight champions. Easily. I like his chances against Louis.

 

Tunneys' movement and Boxing ability would confound Louis,I'd say he has a decent chance of beating Louis over 15rds.,yes.

 

I not saying Tunney doesnt have a chance, but I dont feel as strong as any day of the week kinda of stuff here.

I'd give Louis the edge, but not a big one. Louis held title 11 years, missed 3 of them in middle due to military service, and then came back and gave good account of self in 1950-51. Tunney was great, and had great ability, would have good chance, but Louis has to be the pick.

 

Tunneys incredibly poor habit of keeping both hands low, even when pressed and trapped and his poor inside fighting ability would get him knocked out badly against louis. louis would find him somewhere during the fight and finish the job a badly declined dempsey couldnt do.

tunney does not warrant a high ranking all time heavyweight division, because he simply did not fight enough at heavweight division(only 4 real heavyweight fights), and retired rather than fighting 3 top dangerous contenders that would have given him a battle. tunney is too unproven for me. I think his record is a bit decieving, and I dont think he is the boxer some make him out to be(though he clearly has very good skills).

I prefer more modernized developed smooth boxing skills like patterson, walcott, charles, moore, H johnson

Beating Dempsey, and beating Louis are two very different things.

 

That person didn't say that because Tunney beat Dempsey he would beat Louis.

 

I didn't say he did.

 

Louis, late TKO whilst being behind on the cards. If a past prime Dempsey can catch him a peak Louis would likely finish the job. Stylistically it's an awkward one for Louis but I think he'd prevail.
