    Great fight:

I like Tunney by razor thin split decision. But Sharkey would be by far tunney's toughest fight of his career. I like Tunney edging based on his higher workrate, his better angles and movement, and slightly faster hands. Skillwise, Sharkey is on tunneys level.

If Tunney defends against best Sharkey, I would predict a hard-fought, close 15 round decision in favor of Tunney. Tunney's consistency makes the difference and a victory over a prime Sharkey would strengthen Gene's resume and legacy.

If Sharkey were to win the title in 1928, that sets the stage for some interesting scenarios. I do not believe he would hold the title over an extended period of time, but would probably lose the championship on an off-night. Schmeling may well be the one to do it, or Risko, or Heeney, or maybe even Tunney in a rematch. If Sharkey then lost the title around 1930, he would be in position to regain the title, much like his Schmeling bouts actually turned out. By the time Max Baer came along, I believe the title succession would have went as it did.

I think it was a nut shot too, after replaying a dozen times you can see for a split second Sharkey wincing and about to drop his hands and cup his now bruised balls before Dempsey throws the hook. It can't come as much as a suprise that Dempsey did something dirty certainly ain't the first nor last time.

Dempsey did not turn Sharkey's head, Sharkey turned Sharkey's head. "Dempsey hit me when I wasnt looking" Sharkey.

"Well what the hell why aint you looking?"Dempsey.

I agree with this outcome however, I don't think any fight could be harder for Tunney than the first Greb one, Tunney spent a week in bed after that .

Sharkey would know all about low blows wouldn't he?

Look at Dempseys hand position which can be seen with the prior few shots. The last shot you do not see Dempsey hand/arm position change to indicate he threw the last blow much lower on the belt line. That last blow would need to have been much lower to hit the area you are saying it hit.

That's right. In reality Dempsey did NOT hit Sharkey in the scrotum before the left hook
but Dempsey broke Sharkey's kneecap, and that is why the camera doesn't truly capture the FOUL PUNCH...And the referee was paid off for not once warning or penalizing Dempsey, and after the bout the referee retired to Cannes a rich man....And the reason Jack Sharkey kept mum about the foul all the years he lived was because Dempsey kicked Sharkey in the Adam's Apple before the knockout rendering the garrolous Sharkey a mute ,and as a result Sharkey could no longer pursue an opera career, but took up fly-fishing as his remaining hobby...Dempsey was a dirty fighter alright, though he claimed he took two showers every day....
for the rest of his life...
