    I don't have one, but in the run to the Browne fight he was 190.6lbs 30-days out, 183lbs 14-days out and 179.4lbs 7-days out - https://imgur.com/f7GaF6A

    I'd guess him at mid to high 180's on fight night.

    He was just under 183 the day of his scrap with Koelling. As far as I know, that's the closest to fight time he's ever been weighed.

    It's on Youtube. I'd point you to it but I'm on my phone with limited connectivity. Just search for the one showing the entire match. I'm almost certain there used to be an HBO broadcast that showed it on the Tale of the Tape, but the TR team also reference it in the commentary. I just rewatched it last weekend so I know it's there. Will post with the timestamp later on if you can't find it.

    Thanks mate, I appreciate you going to the trouble of doing that.

    @BCS8 - given you said you'd love to have a confirmed fight night weight of Beterbiev, at the very start of the Youtube video Quick Cash posted, the commentator states Beterbiev weighed just over 182lbs earlier that day, though no mention of what time earlier that day.

    I could see Artur winning while behind on the cards. If a washed Dempsey could catch Gene then I’m sure Artur will eventually and Tunney’s never dealt with a prime gigapuncher on that level when hurt.

    Gene looked quick and got away with his style because he didn't face fast-twitch guys.

    Beterbiev has not been afraid to measure up to that sort of fighter.

    Gibbons didn’t look slow twitch to me when he fought Bloomfield months before fighting Tunney. I doubt Greb was considered slow twitch at even the later stages of his career either and Gene at least won two fights in their series.

    Gibbons was at the end of his run and was a naturally smaller man. And he does qualify as slow twitch on that film.

    Greb was undersized and admitted than himself as their series went on.. but he wasn't afraid to fight fast twitch guys.

    Greb was undersized sure but he still terrorized the light heavyweight division for like 8 years and arguably has the best list of scalps in the division’s history. And his style wouldn’t have worked without his apparently freak athleticism and speed. 1922-23 Greb would’ve been the fastest fighter Gene’s fought and probably could’ve fought at light heavy. I recall reading about a surgery that caused Greb to noticeably decline in the summers of either 1923 or 1924 but even then I don’t remember anyone calling Greb slow even on the decline. Greb himself did the say that Tunney is “different from the rest”, after all. Clearly his style worked to some extent against THE fast twitcher at middleweight and light heavyweight at the time. Gibbons also to a lesser extent overcame size disadvantages greater than the one he had with Gene.

    With regard to gibbons; sometimes fast dudes look slow when they’re being out-thought and countered into oblivion. Tunney beat Tom at his own game, both dude’s timing relied heavily on their reach and Gene brought a longer sword. I have a hard time believing Gibbons’ speed declined so rapidly in 9 months unless people at the time were saying it between the Bloomfield and Tunney fights.

    Greb himself said that Gene just got too big for him to beat. He had outgrown Greb's window.

    Gibbons was a hundred fights in and Tunney was his final effort in the ring. That speaks volumes of the fighter that Tunney faced.
